consume the worstOkay! I opted for the Daily instead of Stable Build and finally got it on my device after several attempts. I found potential workaround for what to do if my windows rejects the device again. My latest MusicBee sync also came through as playable! Will take some time to think about putting podcasts on here, if at all, and learning more about the Rockbox config options : D

Yesterday, I installed an iFlash Solo SSD and new battery into my iPod Classic 6th Gen. The suggestion is to format to FAT32 in advance, but turns out that the iPod restore will do that automatically. I've been stuck in a cycle of my device either rejecting the format or saying my device needs to be repaired. I did at one point get Rockbox with @dook 's Themify theme going. I haven't gone as far as getting music that I synced from MusicBee to play yet, it just skips the tracks endlessly. I was surprised that MusicBee uses the iTunes API, so if I want to remove iTunes, I'll have to consider switching to foobar.

Adam PatridgeI was reminded of resurrecting my Rio 600 several years back after randomly finding the painfully proprietary USB cable.
I had to spin up a Windows XP virtual machine and add original drivers, but Windows Media Player 9 finally decided to play ball. Even got it upgraded to the final firmware version and loaded up some new-at-the-time songs.
Well, the iPod is officially a bust, so I must search for other avenues.
My choices of #MP3player / #DAP are then:
- Ultra low-cost machine, with quite possibly VERY crappy sound for under €40;
- Proper DAP that's over €100 with some being able to run #Rockbox as an alternative firmware. Currently eyeing the #HIFIWalkerH2.
- Weirdly enough, some retro consoles like the #R36S and its variants, which can also run Rockbox as an app.
So, Fedi, what say you on this topic? What do you suggest?
