Still probably one of my favorite uses of different #Umbrage settings! Also gave me some insights for additional modes and features that could improve utility even more! Love to make plugins with approaches that are simply not utilized yet! Of course #DRMFree #linuxaudio #multiplatform #ambient #reverb

It’s crazy 24 people have an opinion about my blog!

Right now it’s equally split between Low latency and Free plugins, so I might just start to work on both :)

I'm ready to start working on my next #LinuxAudio blog post, but what should it be about?

Version 9.1 of YT' favorite Digital Audio Workstation was just released.

This is primarily a hotfix release intended to correct a number of bugs in the #ardour 9.0 release, but includes some nice new features and improvements as well: https://ardour.org/whatsnew.html

I have been spending some time making a lot of Windows Audio Plugins work on my Linux laptop, running CachyOS.

It took some time finding the approach giving me the most stable solution, without needing too much setup. To me the answer was wine-cachyos and Yabridge.

I have tried to collect all my notes and experiences in a blogpost, in case others are searching for a solution.

Here it is: https://mortenmosgaard.dk/run-windows-plugins-on-linux-using-yabridge/

Run Windows Plugins on Linux using Yabridge

If you ever wanted to try out using Windows versions of audio plugins on Linux, you might have heard about Yabridge and Wine, which can be a close-to-magical combo… sometimes. The short version Wine is a Windows compatibility layer that lets you install and run Windows software on your Linux computer. Yabridge creates a digital…

Almost half past six in the evening, time to get up from the sofa, dragging my elephant's head with its ugly cold to the workshop and get a few things done…

… quick test of this #Mackie #Onyx mixer, it seems to work well as an audio interface with #Pipewire on #Linux via USB.

Shows up as 8 inputs and 4 outputs when set to use the “pro audio” profile.

Not the type of mixer I usually use, but a client of mine needed something with built-in bluetooth receiver and built-in power supply.

Is Linux a possible option for you or do you already produce music with a Linux computer?

#Soundcraft #SiImpact #DigialMixer running with #Pipewire as an USB #AudioInterface: ✅

Used for playback music in the break without analog 3.5mm s**thole sound from my Laptop… but I had also successfully recorded multi-track with this configuration on an earlier event.

My music recording tech journey goes something like this:

Two cassette players wired together,
TASCAM portastudio 414
`snd` on Debian
Audacity? I think? on Debian
definitely Audacity on Mint
Reaper on Mint
TASCAM DR24 + Reaper

I still use the portastudio as an effects bus sometimes
