Book reviews: The Ethical Slut, The New Topping Book
Chi just poked her head in and watched me for a bit then inhaled a deep breath of cake smell and said
Yep, that's the pearks of poly relationships
I’m a lesbian terrorist, living with a woman and a man I’m married to. Maybe that’s the ominous LGBTQIA+ community everyone keeps talking about. The whole thing, conservative nightmare in one household
It's Dracula Day and I am doing a repost: Last year, I have written a queer Dracula fanfiction with #polyamory: "Dracula's Lovers"
Jonathan Harker travels to Romania on business as a solicitor, because Count Dracula wants to buy some real estate in London. What Jonathan did not expect was how attractive the Count is and soon things between them take an unexpected turn.

It's unfortunate that so many non-polyamorous people are led to think that #polyamory means constant drama and inevitable emotional hurt.
I get how this happens. Most mentions of polyamory you'll stumble upon as a monoamorous person happen to be negative: drama, jealousy, convoluted breakups, or people abusing poly vocabulary to justify cheating or to try and rekindle a failing relationship. No wonder people think polyamory is something for serial cheaters and drama queens.
The thing one needs to realise is that most mentions of any relationship model are negative. Who posts that they're just happy living their life?
Most relationship-related content in general is going to be about breakups, drama, abuse; because they're looking for advice, to vent, or tell an interesting story. That isn't unique to polyamory. But because monoamorous people notice stories involving polyamory and they don't notice monoamory stories since that's the 'default', the stigma sticks around.
So, I'm thinking I should post something positive to balance it out.
I love being poly! I have been in polyamorous relationships throughout my life and I couldn't imagine life without it. It caused my exes, my current partners and me no hurt and no drama to be poly. There is no bad blood between me and any ex, and we're all friends or distant pals. Polyamory works way better than monoamory for me, and in my experience there is way more drama in mono relationships than in poly ones.
