I will never be without blackberries here. Even if I somehow eradicate them all, they spill over the fence from the neighbours' place. The berries are delicious, but one doesn't want to be overrun by blackberry bushes. They are, alas, invasive.

The guy who started it all? Luther Burbank. His story fascinates me.

I'm fascinated by Luther Burbank's work. I grow one of the plants he developed: sunberry, also known as wonderberry. And who knows what else? Wikipedia says "He developed more than 800 strains and varieties of plants over his 55-year career. "
