Mx. RileyAHHH! The draft 2050 General Plan for Petaluma is finally here! I've dedicated 5 years of my life to this process and I'm so pleased to see it hit this milestone.
It is the result of SO MUCH community input, and while in some places it's not bold enough (density downtown and in corridors), it's a big step forward for us.

My first acts as Library Commissioner that aren't onboarding or agendized business:
* exploring what it'll take to get Petaluma and Sebastopol as much library support as Santa Rosa (SR will have 1 branch per 45K people soon! Petaluma is busiest in the system, has 1 branch for 80K. Sebastopol is busiest per square foot.)
* and letting the Petaluma branch know they could double bike parking capacity if we fixed how the bike racks were installed

Come ~June, I need to appoint someone local to the Measure Y Oversight Committee, which meets a few times a year to ensure tax dollars are being well spent by the library system.
It's not the most exciting, but it's a way to support the libraries, get to know them better, and serve your community.
