Universal Basic Income.

If not medical apprenticeships, then at least
higher-than-ACTUAL-living-wage bursary support whatever for
every single medical, nursing, HCA, clinician, etc student and trainee --
yes 'even' the part-time ones, how dare they try to do anything, ofc.

Throw in Universal Basic Services. Guaranteed jobs and infrastructure with lower carbon emissions per person, plus encourages
movement, exchange of ideas, foot and wheelchair traffic, social cohesion, and probably more.

Throw in good quality, maintained air filters, and you reduce risks of and during future pandemics.
Not to mention literally clean the air as you go, reducing the damage from diesel trains.

Noch ein Symbolbild für die österreichische #VerkehrsWende.

Manche sehen hier viel zu viel #BodenVersigelung, die die Hitze für die Verkehrsteilnehmer*innen (hauptsächlich zu Fuß und mit dem Rad unterwegs) in die Höhe treibt.

Ich sehe einen Beweis dafür, dass mehr Spuren tatsächlich eine Verkehrsberuhigung bringen.

[Edit for folks without easy alt text access: this is a 1948 proposal to link up two main roads across the city by... crossing a flood meadow, a major river, and posh grounds belonging to a very wealthy college. It got vetoed pretty fast, but it's indicative of the mania for roads back then and now]
