Quick update: This is totally related to wifi for me. At least, that is my starting point. I mislead everyone earlier. With no radios on, basically making it just a watch, the battery lasted very well. Full charged at 2 PM, had 60% left at 10 PM.
This morning, I put it on at 6 AM after charging overnight. Posting this at 9 AM and I now at 50% of battery in 3 hours of office work. No Bluetooth, or walkie talkie enabled, just Wi-Fi.
Battery issues since upgrading my #Apple #iwatch series 6 to the latest #watchOS 11.0.
I charged my watch overnight. Put it on at 6:15 AM, battery is drained by 1 PM. I am just sitting at my desk, no need to track me doing anything. I even turned off my radios to see if that would help…nothing.
Prior to this update. I could go all day (office day) and by 9 PM at night, I would be around 40% of battery remaining. Something in this latest update needs a patch…
Apple Announcement Disappointment
With Apple's phone and watch announcements yesterday, I find myself disappointed in the newest releases.
I have an iWatch Ultra 2 and was looking forward to an upgrade, even though my watch is barely a year old. I wanted to see a bigger screen, a lighter watch, longer battery life, and larger memory, plus some enhancements to the iOS, especially in the activities and fitness areas. Sadly for me, there is no reason to upgrade. It makes me wonder if the Ultra line has a future at Apple.
In general I'm an AI skeptic so for any AI product from any company my base comment is, "prove to me that AI has real value." Apple Intelligence may be valuable at some point, but it needs to achieve the "Wow" factor. Maybe it and Siri will eventually.
I have an iPhone 14 Pro so I was looking for a major camera hardware and feature enhancement that might entice me. Looks like I wait another year to see if it makes sense to upgrade my phone.
