My fitness tracker decided to toss in the towel during vacation so I had to get something new. As I had been enjoying the smartwatch functions I decided to upgrade to a proper watch.

As its main use is to track activities I wanted to check in on its heart rate tracking. Strapped on my chest strap (data collected through Strava) and hit a cardio class.

Long story short I have nothing to complain about. Looks really good.

iOS 26.3 już za miesiąc. W Europie Apple musi oddać monopol na powiadomienia w zegarkach

Zazwyczaj aktualizacje z końcówką „.3” są nudne i techniczne. Tym razem jednak Apple szykuje małą rewolucję, z której skorzystają wyłącznie mieszkańcy Unii Europejskiej.

Jeśli nosisz smartwatch innej firmy niż Apple, iOS 26.3 może zmienić twoje życie.

Apple podobno (wzorując się na sposobie dystrybucji kolejnych wersji iOS wcześniej) planuje wypuścić finalną wersję iOS 26.3 pod koniec stycznia. Najbardziej prawdopodobną datą jest poniedziałek, 26 stycznia 2026 roku (tydzień po amerykańskim Dniu Martina Luthera Kinga).

UE znów wygrywa (funkcjonalnie)

Najważniejszą nowością w wersji beta – dostępną tylko dla użytkowników w UE – jest opcja przekazywania powiadomień (Notification Forwarding) dla urządzeń typu wearables spoza ekosystemu Apple.

Co to oznacza? Do tej pory Apple Watch miał uprzywilejowaną pozycję w systemie iOS, jeśli chodzi o mirroring powiadomień. Teraz, na mocy unijnych przepisów (DMA), Apple musi umożliwić to samo twórcom innych smartwatchy i opasek. Może to oznaczać koniec problemów z powiadomieniami na Garminach, Pixel Watchach czy urządzeniach Huawei sparowanych z iPhonem.

Ułatwiona przesiadka i tapety

Poza ukłonem w stronę Brukseli, iOS 26.3 wprowadza dwie mniejsze zmiany:

• Łatwiejsza migracja: nowe narzędzie do transferu danych między iPhonem a Androidem. To efekt rzadkiej współpracy Apple i Google, mający ułatwić życie osobom zmieniającym system w obie strony.
• Porządki w tapetach: sekcja Pogody została wydzielona od Astronomii, a w galerii pojawiły się nowe opcje pogodowe.

Jeśli więc czekacie na lepszą współpracę iPhone’a z waszym sportowym zegarkiem, który nie jest Apple Watchem – zaznaczcie w kalendarzu końcówkę stycznia.

Today, Samsung has released One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch4 series to the majority of the regions, such as the USA and India, which means that regular users can now download the stable version of One UI 8 Watch. Never interrupt the update process, or there could be problems later. The update process may take a few minutes to finish, and if it appears to be stuck, just wait for more minutes.
