Agi: Tajani: "Giro d'Italia straordinario veicolo per attrarre turismo"

AGI - Il Giro d'Italia si conclude a Roma. Al termine dell'ultima tappa vinta da Jonathan Milan che ha incoronato vincitore Vingegaard, il sindaco Roberto Gualtieri e il ministro degli Esteri Antonio Tajani parlano ai microfoni dell'AGI.
"E' stato un giro bellissimo c'è un'atmosfera straordinaria con tantissimi cittadini, turisti, appassionati - ha detto il primo cittadino di Roma - per quanto riguarda il percorso - che dire? - è un percorso unico al mondo. Siamo orgogliosi di portare queste immagini e di celebrare un Giro che è stato straordinario davvero, che ha avuto un successo di pubblico in tutte le sue tappe e che si conclude degnamente a Roma, per il quarto anno di fila. La macchina organizzativa funziona ogni anno meglio quindi siamo molto contenti per una bellissima festa di sport". Quindi aggiunge: "Il ciclismo per noi parla anche molto di sostenibilità, di transizione ecologica e quindi ci piace particolarmente che questa straordinaria avventura del Giro d'Italia si concluda a Roma".

Il ministro Tajani spiega poi che la corsa a tappe ha una valenza non solo sportiva. "il Giro d'Italia è ambasciatore della diplomazia sportiva, l'abbiamo nominato in occasione del G7 a Capri e per il Ministero degli Esteri e per la politica estera italiana rappresenta uno straordinario veicolo per attrarre turismo in Italia e per far conoscere le bellezze italiane nel mondo. Quindi - aggiunge - lo promuoviamo in tutte le nostre ambasciate tenendo presente anche che per quanto riguarda l'export, il livello di 4,7 miliardi di euro di beni sportivi esportati nel mondo. Vogliamo aumentare di più anche il settore delle biciclette ma anche dell'abbigliamento sportivo quindi questo significa il Giro d'Italia a parte l'entusiasmo che crea in tanti tifosi è anche uno straordinario strumento per la crescita del nostro Paese e noi lo sosteniamo come Ministero degli Esteri anche con l'Ice perché a nostro giudizio può continuare a dare un grande contributo alla nostra politica estera e alla politica del commercio internazionale".

Sepp Kuss trionfa in solitaria nella tappa regina del Giro d’Italia 2026, i 151 km tra Feltre e Alleghe. Quando non vince Jonas Vingegaard, vince comunque la sua Visma-Lease a Bike: oggi la maglia rosa ha controllato la corsa e dato via libera al suo gregario statunitense, che è stato semplicemente perfetto. Beffato a 2,2 km dall’arrivo Giulio Ciccone, che aveva sognato l’impresa ma è stato costretto a cedere: si consola però con la conquista della maglia azzurra di miglior scalatore, sottratta proprio a Vingegaard dopo aver conquistato quattro dei sei Gpm di giornata. Sepp Kuss triumphs solo in the queen stage of the 2026 Giro d’Italia, the 151 km between Feltre and Alleghe. When Jonas Vingegaard doesn’t win, he still takes victory for his Visma-Lease a Bike: today the pink jersey controlled the race and gave the green light to his American teammate, who was simply perfect. Deceived 2.2 km from the finish line was Giulio Ciccone, who had dreamed of the feat but was forced to concede: he does console himself with the conquest of the blue jersey as the best climber, snatched right from Vingegaard after having won four of the six gpm of the day. To see him dance among the corners in the pink jersey is a pleasure for the eyes, less for the suspense. Jonas Vingegaard does another sport compared to all the other riders: fourth arrival on climbs, fourth seal for the Danish champion, undisputed king of this Giro d’Italia. Even at Ciri, on the Swiss roads, the great favorite stunned the competition with a disarming simplicity. He put another minute and a half ahead of him and the “rivals,” who now only fight among themselves for the leading positions in the general classification. For Italian cycling it was another day of light and shadow: Giulio Ciccone gave it his all to try and win the stage, but the Visma-Lease a Bike prevented him. Giulio Pellizzari literally vanished at the beginning of the last climb: he is definitively out of the classification, his Giro is becoming a nightmare. Davide Piganzoli, however, is saved: after working for captain Vingegaard, he kept the wheels of the best for a long time. He recovers other positions (now eighth) and now can decisively aim for the white jersey of best young rider.

After twelve years, “I Cesaroni” have returned to Canale 5 with the seventh season directed by Claudia Amendola. A cult series that was initially welcomed with excellent ratings – 3,486,000 viewers and 22.6% share – but whose numbers subsequently fell and then became alarming as the weeks passed. Last Monday’s episode garnered only 2,164,000 viewers with 13% share, figures that suggest a definitive end to the series, completely dismissing the possibility of producing an eighth season.

From late April, Mediaset decided to change its fiction programming, broadcasting only one episode, airing between 10 pm and 11 pm, immediately after “The Wheel of Fortune.” This strategy did not yield the hoped-for results, hence the reversal. Following tonight’s broadcast, the last two episodes of “I Cesaroni,” the eleventh and twelfth, will be aired on June 11th. A double ending for what should be, barring surprises, the definitive farewell.

The 10 pm broadcast did not convince even the protagonist and director, Claudio Amendola: “We have a huge young audience, teenagers who go to school the day after. If you lose your son because he goes to sleep, you also lose the parent who might decide to watch the episode the next day with their son on Infinity. The ‘first late-night’ – as someone calls it – is not a novelty. It has become a theme,” he stated to “Non è la Tv,” Fanpage.it’s format. “We expected that a portion of the audience wouldn't find the same things that brought them to be fans,” Amendola explained.

The roads of Milan too dangerous: the protest by Vingegaard and the group during the Giro d’Italia stage

The Giro d'Italia returns to Milan after five years, but the return to the Lombard capital also gives rise to controversy. The fifteenth stage of the Race Rosa was neutralized in the final urban lap, with the times of the general classification frozen 16.3 kilometers from the finish line. This decision was made for safety reasons, after the protests of the group led by the pink jersey Jonas Vingegaard. The finish in the heart of Milan was considered too risky by the riders. It was Vingegaard himself who explained how the decision was made. The Dane recounted that he spoke directly with the jury along with teammate Campenaerts: “The circuit was too dangerous, yes, everyone thought it was too dangerous. When we entered the circuit we approached the car of the Jury President and talked, and they made the decision.” Vingegaard also emphasized that it was not a personal request: “It is a decision of the whole group, and not just made by me. Obviously we spoke within the group: if I had been the only one to have this feeling it would have been a bit different.”

The leader of the general classification then thanked the organizers and the jury for meeting the riders' requests: "As riders we must be happy that they meet our requests.” However, the choice was not to everyone’s liking. Among fans and industry professionals, some consider the neutralization to be excessive, while purists wrinkle their noses. But the organizers preferred to prioritize the riders’ requests.
