"Over Sixty species of plants native to the Northeastern United States and locally grown by Glover Perennials—many of which are drought tolerant and deer resistant—will be showcased outdoors at the Roy Latham Nature Center at Inlet Pond County Park. A list of plants available will be posted here a week before the sale.

Based at the Roy Latham Nature Center, the organization models environmentally responsible landscaping practices, including the replacement of #InvasiveSpecies with native plants, #WaterWise #gardening, and #HabitatCreation.

Proceeds from NFAS’s spring and fall plant sales directly fund ongoing #restoration projects, including initiatives to plant native plants and trees throughout Inlet Pond County Park."

I work for a tiny nonprofit school here in Vermont, and since 1984 we've held an annual Spring/Mother's Day "Brunch Bag" fundraiser.

We fill the bags with fresh foods from local Vermont food makers -- contents vary from year to year but generally include baked goods such as croissants/rolls, jam and cheese, sweet treats such as chocolates or brownies, plus a long stemmed rose.

Volunteerism is highly valued at our school: Brunch Bags is an all-volunteer effort, from procuring the contents, assembling the bags, mapping delivery routes, and personally delivering over 1,000 bags door-to-door throughout the county (and beyond).

As many as 300 bags are donated to individuals served by local service organizations such as COTS, Steps to End Domestic Violence, Cathedral Square, Lund Family Center, and the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge.

And that's where you come in.

If you'd like to buy a bag to donate to one of our service orgs, you would be supporting our school AND giving a complete stranger a really nice surprise this weekend AND helping us support our local businesses from whom we buy the contents for the bags.

Well, we buy SOME of the contents, but I also personally work with our school chef to bake the rosemary focaccia bread and blueberry pecan muffins for the vegan/gluten-free bags. 🙂

Most annual conferences get a large portion of their revenue through ticket sales - this helps pay for the venue, catering, swag, etc. Costs can vary *significantly* based on size and location, and thus, conferences charge for tickets based on what the intended _audience_ is.
