The world is now so full of ridiculous things that at least I struggle to deal with it all. But this is not an 'us' problem. The (political) world really is idiotic. I needed to vent a bit, so I made a list of things that are impossible to believe, yet are very much what is happening. Perhaps seeing it in writing will help you deal better with the situation. https://berthub.eu/articles/posts/the-impossible-things-we-have-to-believe/
The Impossible Things We Have to Believe - Bert Hubert's writings

“Alice laughed. ‘There’s no use trying,’ she said. ‘One can’t believe impossible things.’ I daresay you haven’t had much practice,’ said the Queen. ‘When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. – Through the looking-glass, Lewis Carrol To stay sane, we have to accept that our climate is going completely haywire, but that it is ok to mostly ignore that since saving ourselves is apparently not cost-effective.

I’ve been thinking a lot about “space” as a trans fem recently. The space I occupy; the ways in which I and other tans fems are suppose to occupy space; the limitations of transition and material space; and politically, how fems, in general, are asked to both constrain and police space. It’s both a deeply personal and yet visibly public area that impacts us all, to some degree or another.

One of my earliest (and continuing) senses of dysphoria focuses around the space my body occupies. I am tall, I am broad shouldered. As my body developed into this form I became more and more disassociated from it. I would avoid smaller public gatherings, and try to disappear within the crowd - always feeling too visible, too big, within the space. This doesn’t seem to be an uncommon experience among trans fems, as the amount freedom and visibility we display in non-material (virtual) spaces compared to the material world differs dramatically.

It should go without saying, that cultural and political systems have framed Ideal Womanhood or Ideal femininity as both passive and retreating. Women - and fems, as their related cousins - were (and still are) expected to exert a ‘quiet presence’ and influence: to remain objects for consumption rather than public actors. The structures of modern society has been built around this desire to limit and control fem bodies in public spaces (eg. the only reason we have gender segregated bathrooms was the desire limit women’s ability to occupy taverns, office buildings, courtrooms, et. al.) Trends in fashion and modesty have promoted reduction in mobility and freedom: including outrageous campaigns to dissuade women from horseback riding or bicycling (see bicycle face, as well as the normalization of restrictive fashions (eg. I, too, love a pair of nice stiletto heels, but - come on girls - these were never meant to allow us to be freer or more mobile). Thus, we have a system which is designed to equate womanhood or femininity with a smaller or more restrictive public presence than that allowed for men.

For trans fems this can become a difficult challenge: asserting our rights while remaining small. Being accepted or perceived in feminine terms while our material bodies frequently do not align with the space or fashion we occupy. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that our size, volume, or presence in public spaces is the center of so much transphobic rhetoric and hatred. These attacks try to deny or undermine our womanhood or feminity by distancing us from Ideal Womanhood, while never acknowledging the restrictive and patriarchal nature of this construct (terfs are notoriously prone to this style of argument). Yet, this is the intersection of liberation that both cis and trans women seek. It is the nexus of feminist and transfeminist right to exist in public spaces without restrictions and fear of violence. To be free and equal among others. While trans fems have much to learn from the history of cis feminism (both good and bad), cis feminists have a great deal to learn from their trans sisters about living and traversing public spaces as fems. It is this critical we continue to challenge both patriarchal systems and feminism in general. As the expansion of the latter will only continue to diminish the latter. As has been said many times before, the oppression of some (or one) is the oppression of all.

We don't think any institution or state has the right to prevent families and friends from private chatting, physically or digitally. But the Cyber Authority China (CaC) seems to take offense:

- they made Apple remove #deltachat iOS for mainland china

- their great firewall appears to block some #chatmail relays

- if you ask DeepSeek directly about Delta Chat, it doesn't want to talk

It's pretty sad, really. Everybody on this planet needs, and has a human right to private communication.

A Trump judicial nominee was asked: is Trump eligible to run for a 3rd term?

Their answer: “I would have to review the actual wording…”

Sen. Chris Coons then asked every nominee in the room to confirm the Constitution bars a 3rd term.

Silence.

Every single one of them refused to say it.

Trump is appointing judges who won’t affirm the 22nd Amendment to his face.

Never stop connecting the dots.

While the world seems to be running out of courage to act, russia’s violence does not slow.

Today, russian attacks across Ukraine killed 27 people and injured 120. Ukrainian blood is still being shed daily.

Now in its fifth year, it still feels like a nightmare with no end.

F.D.A. Blocked Publication of Research Finding Covid and Shingles Vaccines Were Safe
5 May 2026

Officials at the Food and Drug Administration have blocked publication of several studies supporting the safety of widely used vaccines against Covid-19 and shingles in recent months, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed.

The studies, which cost millions of dollars in public funds, were conducted by scientists at the agency, who worked with data firms to analyze millions of patient records. They found serious side effects to be very rare.

 Proč mamutovo.cz?
---

(Velká psychologie: koukej to používat, když už něco platíš. 🤭)

That is the true definition of malware.

Google Chrome silently installs a 4 GB AI model on your device without consent. At a billion-device scale the climate costs are insane. — That Privacy Guy!

Google Chrome is downloading a 4 GB Gemini Nano model onto users' machines without consent, with no opt-in, no opt-out short of enterprise tooling, and an automatic re-download every time the user deletes it. The pattern is identical to the Anthropic Claude Desktop case I wrote about last month, but the scale is between two and three orders of magnitude larger. This article does the legal analysis and, for the first time, the environmental analysis. The numbers are not small.
