And a whole generation of embedded-systems engineers snort-laughs coffee all over their keyboard and monitor.

my first bit of writing (that I still have, at least) was output to a DMP-130(ish, IIRC) dot matrix printer from my #TRS80 #ColorComputer – and it was a love poem from a computer to its sysop… 💁‍♀️ 😬🫠

Oh dear, i think i start sounding like one of the four Yorkshiremen.

Back then, I didn’t even have a cooling fan.
Didn’t have bed levelling. Did that by hand every time.
Kept an eye out for the filament.

Didn’t have stepper motors. Moved the carriage by hand.
No heater. used a lighter to melt the filament.
No printer. Just moved the heated filament around by hand.
No filament. Used old plastic fished out of the bin.

Ah... at least that's below freezing. I can understand Georgia not being too used to that.

I'm still waiting for someone from #NWT or #Greenland to "Four Yorkshiremen" me...

@Sustainable2050 Yes I remember running my fingers over the beautiful ice patterns on the inside of our windows. No heating upstairs. A paraffin stove in the ‘back room’ where Mam cooked, we ate, watched the television etc. A flame effect electric fire in the front room which was reserved for when we had visitors. Eventually we had the luxury of a couple of small night storage heaters. Now I’m waiting for someone to say ‘You were lucky!’ #MontyPython #FourYorkshireMen
@donni Pah, call that old fashioned? I still worship a POND!! #FourYorkshiremen
