Nááts'ihch'oh: The Porcupine Mountain

Nááts'ihch'oh National Park Reserve protects the headwaters of the South Nahanni River. Its name, from the Dene language, means 'stands up like a porcupine'—a reference to a sacred mountain. Established in partnership with the Shúhtagot’ı̨nę (Mountain Dene), the park safeguards a culturally vital and wild landscape. #Canada #Náátsihchoh #NWT #Indigenous 🇨🇦

The deadline for Ottawa's gun buyback has passed with 81 firearms being declared in the N.W.T. under the program. Now gun owners still have a few more months to dispose of, or permanently deactivate, their banned assault-style firearms — but it's still unclear how that will be enforced in the N.W.T.
