Given the unfolding experiences of the #Jasper #AB #wildfire #evacuees--where they are just the most recent of many displaced people seeking urgent help and resources are insufficient--I strongly suspect we need to massively expand #EmergencyPlanning and #EmergencyResources for the present and 'new normal' of the foreseeable future.

We have a LOT to do.

10. International tourists might also have no familiarity with the local or larger geography of not only #Jasper #AB, but also #BC.

Will they have access to reliable, functional maps during the #emergency? Will their mapping software work if they hit an area with low or damaged cellphone infrastructure?
