We stumbled accidentally upon these facts many years ago by driving our Old EV from Seattle to Spokane (300 mi) in the summer

The Cascade mountain range stands between these cities, so we had to use consecutive DC chargers to defeat Gravity. We quickly learned that car batteries don't like high-power charging in hot weather. But we made it 💪 .. and learned a lot in the process. This trip should be even more feasible now with modern batteries.

I'm sending big thank you vibes to the random woman at the EV charging station who, upon seeing us struggling to charge our car, offered to switch chargers with us. And then, as our problems continued, used her app to connect our car (and consequently paid our charge). She told us not to worry and pay it forward.

So, I learned about the Vanguard Sebring Citicar a while ago. And Electric car built between 1974 and 1977. Its about the size of a modern Smart Car and could max out at 50 MPH / 80 KPH.

I don't know what would be needed to update it to handle Texas Interstate driving, but it be interesting.

Even then, a small EV to drive around Granbury wouldn't be so bad really.

Lots of work though.
