I can't take my dog down to the local pond anymore, because the ducks keep attacking him. It's my fault for choosing a pure bread dog.

So, was with my dogs in a dog park - we've entered when it was completely empty. I have left backpack and some other accessories on the bench visible from the entrance. Also the leashes were left by the gate, which made obvious someone is there (it's a big park with a forest section, so you might not see people or dogs).
When leaving the forest we got scolded by a guy, who told us that one dog line is against the rules and he remember the dogs and using the ball is also against the rules. And of top of that he said my dog attacked his last time. He was speaking swedish, so only my friend understood and discussed with him, which I regret very much.
First of all, my dog never attacks, though he will defend himself, meaning if there was anything hos dog started it (I wasn't there that time).
Second there is nothing in the park rules about the line while there is a part saying that dogs who run away should come in when the park is empty (which it was).
Also, the use of toys is discouraged when there are many dogs - to avoid conflict, not banned especially with dogs from the same household.
And there is even more important rule, which says that people in the park have priority and anyone coming in needs to ask people inside if it's ok to enter - guess who didn't.
Gotta love #swedish #hypocricy

It's amazing how oblivious some dog owners can be about sharing space. There are many reasons dogs may not be welcome in all parts of open space (children, cultural differences, legitimate fears anyone might have, impacts on wildlife, dog poo, etc.), so always good to stick to leads and dog-specific areas to keep the rest of green spaces inclusive for all. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/dec/01/dogs-children-public-spaces-london #greenspace #dogs #parks #dogparks #inclusiveparks #dogowners
Who has priority in public spaces – dogs or children? Where I live, we’re about to find out

My kids are afraid of dogs, but planned restrictions in east London have sparked anger among owners. I know where I stand, says writer Oliver Keens

@bettybarcode That's a great point. More specificity is needed in how we think and talk about "green space." Are we talking about #parks or #playgrounds or #dogparks or #meadows of #forests.

Okay, #YEG, even if you don't care at ALL about #hockey, this bit of an interview with #Oilers forward Zach Hyman (who came to #Edmonton from Toronto early this hockey season) is pretty fun and likely something you would enjoy!
