Two favourites: Anthoxanthum odoratum (Sweet vernal grass with heavenly smell of fresh hay) and Holcus lanatus (with its beautiful German name Wolliges Honiggras, "wooly honey-grass").

The first heat wave of the year has arrived and the meadow is doing great! The tall grasses are flowering and it's finally time for the hawkweed (Hieracium) to shine! I love their beautiful bright hues (they are native here) 💛🧡❤️

It has been a very dry start into the season, but the meadow has been holding up great and is looking beautiful. Did you know that letting your lawn grow taller and allowing "weeds" to grow makes it more drought-resistant? Just one of the many perks.
