We're apparently now at more than 100mm rainfall for the weekend, with another couple centimetres expected tonight.

FYI to #YEG folks: Most of the Edmonton area is now under alert asking people to avoid sending excess water down the drain because it might come back up in someone's basement. Beaumont & St Albert seem to be most urgent about it (I guess they have shared sewer / stormwater systems?). And roads are closed due to flooding in some rural areas

I didn't get a phone alert, but all the advisory alerts for #Alberta folks are available here:

Edmonton is currently trying to become an island with all of this rain and flooding.

Flood warnings everywhere. Please be safe out there! #yeg

Welp. #YEG is getting taken out by rain.

We gonna be a bit stinky tomorrow.

@Daveography We need this in #YEG so, so badly
The rainpoclypse isn't done yet, but June 20th dropped 24mm at the airport, 29mm at Blacthford, and Stony Plain got 49.9mm

Happy National Indigenous Peoples' Day to all of us living on Turtle Island. It's too soggy to celebrate in a big way here in #YEG at the moment, but I hope that all will recognize that we are Treaty people, in some way.

@linux_mclinuxface Only in #yeg do you have to worry about the electrons freezing if you don’t bury your cables deep enough 😉

#YEG is extremely culturally diverse now, so I don't have to travel far to get kimbap, injera, salted liquorice, squid, goat meat, and a huge assortment of items. My problem is that I get very excited about these items, bring them home, and then have to remember to include them in my cooking. Last week, I made a delicious Char Siu pork with cheap tenderloin, and I enjoyed it all week with a variety of sides. I replaced all the special sauces, which are nearly gone.

Okay. I think I’m overthinking this. It’s really not a far run and my yard isn’t finished (…not that I’m happy with that years after completion of the house) so messing up landscaping isn’t a concern.

It might be simpler to do a single mode fibre run. I have a concrete pathway between the two buildings that I could fairly easily hug with the run. Anyone done anything like this in #yeg? What depth do I need to go?
