Today's 'looking after Dad' task is to get his car going again with a flat battery. I haven't jump-started a car for yonks and then I'll have to drive it down the motorway for a bit to recharge it.

It has its MOT on Friday so it's quite important it can actually get there!

Crazy to think that my son is now older than his sister was when he was born.

I'm not sure if it's a boy/girl thing or just an individual one, but he seems so much smaller and less... independent than she was at the same age.

Could be completely misremembering that of course. They both grow so fast and at different rates, but I also wonder if she appears more mature and independent because a lot of her growing up into an eight year old has coincided with a baby turning into a toddler into a four year old.

The contrast between that and a four year old growing into an eight year old is less stark I guess? It's smoother; significantly less...awake at 1/2/3/4am moments.
