Unequivocally one of my all-time favorite old school #country albums. And I would say that about the album cover as well.

I’ve mentioned numerous times on here that I developed my love for classic country and western as a kid from my uncles.
My Uncle Alfio was the one responsible for first playing me Tex Ritter, and Blood On The Saddle was ground zero.

The title track is one of the great songs of all time.
It is simultaneously grisly and horrific, but also unbelievably hilarious. Not written by Ritter, but certainly popularized by him.

The album takes off from there, and your smile never wanes until the record’s over.

It’s just so friggin good.

Going through images of our farm through the years. This was our mini Jersey bull Signet. A super sweet boy that gave us healthy beautiful babies. He moved on to bigger pastures with more lady friends. :)

We bought our little farm 7 years ago and there were various artifacts on the site. This one has been given a sacred space on our back porch. I am always thankful for animals that give sustenance (we get eggs and milk from ours) or companionship.
