Just shared some thoughts on LinkedIn about rethinking trauma-informed approaches for autistic adults.

Some thoughts on trauma, treatment and autism

I need to run some ideas by autism researchers and professionals here on LinkedIn. I may have a useful view on working with autistic adults.

The Autistic Culture podcast....its connected so many dots for me in the episodes I've listened to! Things are starting to make more sense to me, and I'm realizing the things that have come up in my life have been a thing just people don't believe me. There's reasons for the things I've experienced! I'm not crazy!

I can be pretty pointed here, but I tend to keep my (many) struggles and even more pointed/personal musings about life and being #ActuallyAutistic off this account – I have an alt account for that where I am open and brutal just to vent about that stuff.

If you're interested in that kind of stuff, DM me with a little background about yourself and I'll share that address.

I'm esp. interested in sharing with others on the spectrum and those wanting to learn more about the #AutisticExperience.

Looking down the long queue toward the steam table.

“Damn all the instant oatmeal’s gone…” I mumble out loud. A lot. “That shit settles my ulcer…”

See, I just got off the ancient bus that the Genesis Project works as a shuttle.

@MatthewToad42 @actuallyautistic Yes there is a 2/2 It's something I've struggled with for years and it is very upsetting.

I've been followed in stately homes, art galleries and museums. Supermarkets, malls and department stores in the UK and Australia.

Whatever I'm doing is a massive red flag, I just didn't know it was such a universal #AutisticExperience ! I just posted about it on Insta for the first time and there's been a huge response.

Security definitely need diversity training.

@unvarnishedjen @actuallyautistic Yes! Before starting the Book Club I researched Autistic groups and was horrified to see age ranges on some of them (quite tight ones of about 10 years in some cases). We have an age range of 18 to I think people in their 70's? Not sure though, but it doesn't matter at all. Our #AutisticExperience isn't limited by age, I feel when we're together we group by experience, not age.

Also, I'm glad to be here too! Love getting older, I agree, it is a privilege!
