In Hebrew, horse is Sus (Soos) - and this Sus had absolutely no idea he was the highlight of a native Israeli’s afternoon in the American South.

Baby Horses Have Fairy Fingers
In historical fiction, especially in movies, the size (height) of (war-)horses is often used to define the animal.
We all know how Gandalf rides a giant SUV-horse and the hobbits have their little dork-ponies.
However: when reading actual historical (medieval, ancient) sources it seems this is very much not notable. Often size is not mentioned at all when details about colour, ability, body type are.
I'm sure some #history expert wrote about this. Any reading tips?
