coverage of the Paralympics would go into explicitly. It's something I miss about The Last Leg.
Being at the Paralympics as an parathlete is also people learning from other disabled people in other sports. Many parathletes were not born disabled. Some only became disabled relatively recently - they still have tons of internalized and lateral ableism.
For some parathletes who are open to learning, it is a great opportunity to unlearn ableism (as well as whatever stereotypes they had about other countries, etc).
This is a subject I wish more
