I think I may have finished scripting my long-ish form comic for this year! Yay!
As an interesting follow-up, chatgpt now claims to not have any information in its training data about me. I wonder what that previous request triggered?
Also wrong uni, study, general field is right but while I probably do more design than illustration on any given day I’ve never explicitly worked in it. It’s so interesting.
I wonder if it’ll buy me a pint, given it’s so keen on being friends?
It’s intriguing that it fills gaps with kind of half-formed truths (I have won neither of those awards and any I have are shorty story or journalism related, for better or worse)
I really love the idea of ChatGPT as a bullshitter, ie. vaguely accurate but more interesting in selling the idea it knows.
But I think it’s a specific kind of bullshitter: the guy who pretends he knows your favourite band in around 2001 and gets the general gist but no specific facts right.
Example: I asked it to give me a bio (a reasonable amount of info is online about, about the same amount as a local band then).
It kind of gets my deal, but none of the facts

Australian #women now #work more in female-dominated jobs than they did 35 years ago! 💼

Occupational segregation persists in #Australia, and this comes at a big cost.

According to an economics expert, we need "a relatively even balance of females and males" in the #workforce if we want to hire the people who are going to be the best.

👩‍💻 This means we need to remove the barriers that allow it to happen.

Despite knowing that a sweatshop is possibly behind a good #BlackFriday deal, why is demand still high for low-price mass-produced clothing? 🛍️

Motivated reasoning can explain how people convince themselves sweatshop labour is actually okay, as long as the #clothes are desirable.

🛒 According to #marketing experts, #ethical #shopping must be internally motivated – and resources like Oxfam's Naughty or Nice list can't work alone.
