PSA: if you upload stuff to youtube, I highly recommend upscaling your videos to 4K first even if they're 1080p.

they've tanked the bitrate on 1080p, even on premium now, and it looks awful. it's particularly problematic on anything with lots of hard cuts because the keyframe intervals have been stretched out. the very second you go up to 1440p or 2160p source it fixes it.

I've seen multiple creators have to reupload videos because they look so bad, and it hurts their views as a result.

Alright, what can it hurt. Seriously. Free to a good home, one well trained tradesperson, capable of building a new home from the ground up, or restoring something 200 years old.( we don't have much that old, much less older, here) Pretty much any trade, although my plastering skills might be in need of honing. . . Open to any better situation than the current one. I try not to ask for much, but if you know where this might get some attention, please, boost away.

Question for my Portland people: can you still buy a bunch of spinach?

I noticed when I moved to the east coast that a lot of produce was ridiculously over packaged. Maybe you can buy a bunch of spinach at the farmers market, but at the store, you can only get those pre-washed packages of baby spinach.

I wondered if my hometown has also taken this horrible turn.

My employer, after 7 months of work, fired me overnight. Because I would be too "finicky" about code quality and security risks, which would better suit "a bank or cybersecurity company".

So I'm again #lookingForJob, either at #Montpellier (France) or #fullRemote. I am a #fullStack #developer with almost 10 years of experience on #php, #symfony, #html, #css, #javascript (#jquery and I'm also learning #vue). I am fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Since going through the diagnostic process I've had all of this. It's been very disappointing to find that people I have trusted implicitly think I'm just being a bit silly.

'Everyone thinks they've got ADHD now'

'It's because of social media'

'It's just because you're lazy/easily distracted'

'You're not doing enough of something/you're doing too much of something'

'You're just not trying hard enough'

'Have you tried mindfulness'

Greater awareness not more cases behind ADHD surge, study suggests

Study found no evidence of significant rise with jump in demand for help down to under-diagnosis.

The myth: Neurodivergent folks lack “soft skills.”

The truth: Many have deep empathy, creativity, and fierce pattern recognition — they just show it differently.

“The Neurodivergency Superpower: How Diverse Teams Function Better.”

This isn’t a feel-good talk. It’s a practical roadmap to building stronger, smarter, more adaptive teams.

The Neurodivergency SuperPower - How Diverse Teams Function Better | Asheville Drupal Users Group

In today's rapidly evolving work environment, successful teams embrace diversity in all its forms, especially neurodiversity. Neurodivergent individuals—those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other cognitive differences—bring unique perspectives, creativity, and problem-solving skills that can supercharge team performance.

**EDIT**: I think I have an indirect contact. Cease your boosting :)
#infosec Has anyone in my circle a security contact at commerzbank / comdirect? I'm getting mail that me, common sense and telephone customer support agree is fishing.
Small problem: it comes from the comdirect mail server, and seems to have a valid telesec-CA S/MIME cert attesting ownership. And the content is even more worrisome.

(this is the rare "boost for reach" thing, isn't it?)

@RickiTarr

I also think about this a lot - in films there seems to be a repeating trope that says something like 'we are not what we think but what we do', and I just don't think I agree with that *at all*. I'm not saying what we do or don't do isn't important, but I live mostly internally (apart from all of the incessant posting of every single thought on Fedi) and like a TARDIS I am much bigger on the inside. There are worlds in me. Which isn't represented when I send an email or change our gas & electric supplier or eat spaghetti. I am not 'Mr Eat Spaghetti'. I am a collection of a billion things.

.... Which is why I don't think I should have to pay this parking fine, Your Honour
