Well it has been 12 years since I have experienced this but I got laid off last week. Thankfully I have 10 months of employment still but it sucks as I loved this job and worked with one of the best teams ever. If you know of anyone looking for 20+ years experience with high tech, web dev, web design or training/project management or ethics compliance let me know. Feel free to boost. #FediHire #pdx #remotework

The 120 year-old tradition of Fleet Week returns tomorrow in Portland. US and Canadian Navy ships will be arriving starting tomorrow.

If you have to cross the Willamette on these days you'll avoid delays by taking the Fremont or Saint John's bridge North of downtown; or the Hawthorne or Sellwood Bridges South of downtown. Better still, bike to work. The weather's going to beautiful.

Tuesday, June 3: Expect three ships arriving with bridge lifts between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Lifts will be longer than normal, in some cases up to 45 minutes.

Wednesday, June 4: Expect four ships arriving with bridge lifts between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Lifts will be longer than normal, in some cases up to 45 minutes.

All ships leave on Monday, June 9. Expect frequent bridge lifts and traffic delays during ship departures that morning.

PBOT removing 3 of 4 blocks on NW 13th Ave today, after strong opposition to large private #outdoordiningstructures dominating #publicplazaspace, concerns about late night #noise, negative behaviors, and… violence, in the plaza, as well as issues with illegal parking, blocking of emergency lanes, and lack of visibility for pedestrians. An overwhelming majority of respondents supported a public street plaza on NW 13th Avenue, but only if done well.
