May was a really good month for observations. May is autumn for us, but it was a very warm autumn!

Here are a couple of observations: a Kongobatha, an Orthorhinus, a Servaea incana, and a Clynotis severus.

¿Who’s inside this webbed capsule?

I found this abandoned egg sac, and I’m almost certain it belongs to a Salticid.

But Salticidae is a huge family... so WHO exactly is inside?

My guess, based on the shape, location, and local species, is Astia maculata.

But it could just as easily be Servaea, Clynotis, Apricia… or someone unexpected...

I’m really excited to find out 🐣👀

Yet another 2 Isopeda villosa and with more beetles (a Chalcopteroides and a Paropsisterna beata), a juvenile female Astia maculata, and a salticid from the tribe viciriini which I suspect is a Holoplatys (one of their first legs is very small).

An adult male Cytaea alburna- he was very curious (both pics are of him- the second slightly blurry but I really like the photo anyway), a Thomisidae (of some description), and quite a few Rainbowia- it was my first time seeing these, didn't know mites could get that big!
