Dark and scary in the cellar – an illustration from Island Spider

At the insistence of the lady who lives in the house the reporter has to go down into the cellar and he’s afraid of spiders.

Island Spider is the story of Harry, a very hairy tropical spider that gets caught up in a bunch of bananas and is transported to a far away land. After surviving various adventures he needs to try and get home. Luckily for him there are some locals to help him do it but will he be able to escape capture and find his way home?

The story is available as an ebook or as a printed A4 sized book globally on Amazon. Illustrations within the text are repeated at the back of the printed book so that they can be coloured in by younger children. 🕷️🏡 Experts at the International Society of #Arachnology say that the answer to the most common #spider depends on how you measure them.

The cosmopolitan cellar spider is found in nearly every #building on Earth because it travels with humans. However, the tiny money spider family might have the highest population density because they can cover entire fields in silk and drift through the air using a technique called ballooning.

What's the most common spider in the world? | Discover Wildlife

Wondering which spider is the most common in the world? We asked the experts and everyone is scratching their heads

Some arachnids from today:

- young _Mangora_ orbweaver
- _Naphrys pulex_ (I think?), considering some kind of hymenopteran
- and most excitingly, Trombidiidae that aren't _Allothrombium_! I'm not quite sure whether they're both _Trombidium_, the first one is oddly not velvety at all but more rough-textured, and more flat than plump, like Smarididae if it were trombidiid-shaped. I am going to upload the pics to BugGuide to see what the experts say.

I think the yt algorithm got confused after I watched a bit of Babylon 5 where the shadow's space ships where shown and it started suggesting me yt vids about massive tarantulas 😅

This guys channel is really cool if you're into #Arachnids at all.

A bold jumping spider (Phidippus audax), that's its name not disposition, was watching us garden. We moved it to the flower patch to avoid possibly stepping on it.

A beautiful lady and her beautiful children! This was a female argiope argentata (pictured here eating a mealworm I offered to her) that lived in my grandma's garden. She survived the loss of a leg and then a violent storm so I was thrilled to see that no only she was thriving but her babies were born as well 💚
