Yet another 2 Isopeda villosa and with more beetles (a Chalcopteroides and a Paropsisterna beata), a juvenile female Astia maculata, and a salticid from the tribe viciriini which I suspect is a Holoplatys (one of their first legs is very small).

It's the middle of winter here, but you can still catch inverts around if you look hard enough! In fact, the Celaenia calotoides (bird dropping spider) I found in my bedroom!

I thought I was seeing double, but these two wee baby huntsman spiders are different sizes: 5cm and 4cm across. One in the office, and the other in the lounge room cleaning its paws.

Soon enough, they'll be 10cm across and running around the lounge room walls, across the floors, hiding in the shower, etc. just like all their ancestors.

Mr Fuzzylegs has been wandering around by house for a few days & turning up in unexpected places. Yesterday, I accidentally put my hand on him as I was going upstairs. It turns out he also has a fuzzy butt.😆 Don't worry, we didn't hurt each other. Here he is today after collecting cobwebs.

The movie Arachnophobia made this species out to be deadly but they're actually harmless to humans.
