So, I “built” a 20m vertical ground plane antenna out of some wire and a 1:1 balun to finally get on 20.

I’m addicted.

My very first QSO on HF was 1,200 miles to Ontario from Texas!!! After that, I talked to Arizona, South Carolina, and New York. All with 40 watts on a DIY antenna strung up in a tree.

This weekend I'm going to do a #ParksOnTheAir of Pinecone Burke Provincial Park and hopefully a #SummitsOnTheAir activation of Burke Peak. Will be in the park from Saturday to Monday although we'll likely be packing up and hiking out all day Monday.

40/20/15/2m bands, SSB and FM. Maybe hunting on CW.
