My laptop has a monitor with pretty terrible color reproduction—it has a greenish tint. I've configured Xorg to load the monitor's color correction profile from the right ICC file at startup using xiccd, and this significantly improves the colors in all applications. However, many applications (all the ones i use for photos, graphics, video editing, etc. —RawTherapee, GIMP, Inkscape, Geeqie, etc., but also Firefox, for example) offer an additional option within them to apply a monitor color profile to the images they display. This can be the “system” profile—in my case, the one loaded by xiccd when Xorg starts—or another one from a different ICC/ICM file. If i enable it with the “system” color profile, the colors of the images within the applications change further, but shouldn’t it be enough to apply the color profile to Xorg, which already changes the colors in all applications? I'm worried that by applying the same color profile first to Xorg as a whole (and thus to all applications running under it), and then in individual applications, i’m actually messing up the colors...

Baking question for fedibrain.

I am cooking a recipe for instant baguette bread that involves 450 g bread flour, 360 ml water, 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp yeast. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, add the water, lightly incorporate for maybe 5 mins with the back of a spoon, cover, and leave to rise overnight. Then gently divide and shape (no flattening etc), and bake for 30 minutes on fan at 200° C.

It makes nice French bread.

Question: Where's the kneading? I thought kneading was an essential step in bread making?

I have a #kubuntu 26.04 rig that every handful of minutes just...stutters. It's like the transmission on car just slips and doesn't do anything for a brief moment and then resumes. Biggest impact is during my online games where I might miss a shot.

Where can I start to debug such an intermittent item?

This blip occur outside of games in just the basic OS as well, so I don't think it's network related.
