Sad to see #Launchpad is dropping #Bazaar (#bzr) support - probably the last thing that set it apart from other code hosting solutions like GitHub.

At this point, it should just remove the support for hosting upstream projects altogether considering all #Canonical projects are actually on GitHub, and Launchpad is just the Ubuntu build system / bug tracker.
This is further exemplified by the fact that they announced this only on an #Ubuntu community forum.
What is Bazaar code hosting? Bazaar is a distributed revision control system, originally developed by Canonical. It provides similar functionality compared to the now dominant Git. Bazaar code hosting is an offering from Launchpad to both provide a Bazaar backend for hosting code, but also a web frontend for browsing the code. So 85% of the Komoot employees were fired by the new owners (which is their usual thing - they have done it at their other acquisitions as well - buying random SaaS products, fire everyone and then squeeze out the last Pennie’s from the product without investing into new things). What a shame… Enshitification is around the corner.

Nearly three months ago, U.S. President Donald Trump slapped sanctions on the International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor, Karim Khan. He has lost access to his email and his bank accounts have been frozen. American staffers at The Hague-based court also have been told that if they travel to the U.S. they risk arrest. In addition, some nongovernmental organizations have stopped working with the ICC. Rights groups say these problems will prevent victims of war crimes from getting justice.
