i used to have the bar on the left side of the screen, disappearing, but now there is no way i can bring it back and in settings, under #launchpad it just says that something went wrong...
any idea how to fix it?
FIXED it following the instructions at point 4 here: https://indexof.website/lite/5/ubuntu-desktop-taskbar-and-menu-bar-not-showing
Did you know that #Inkscape is the biggest project on #GitLab after the gitlab codebase itself?
After moving from #launchpad and #bzr, we don't have the energy to move the project again. So it looks like we'll be putting up with whatever GitLab decides to do to us.
A large complicated and, ingrown project like ours would need some very special attention to move. Unfortunately.

A few days ago, @alci said (translated to English):
"Well, it looks like Canonical's Infra #ubuntu is suffering a big attack (dos a priori). #launchpad services are all inaccessible.
Fortunately, the main repositories remain operational, updates to the #copyfail vulnerability apply...
Still a little worrying"

A public apology regarding BassBoom v1.0 Launchpad PPA
When BassBoom v1.0 was released, we had expected that this version of the music player would be available to all package managers in various platforms, such as WinGet for Windows, Launchpad PPA for Ubuntu, and other packaging methods for different systems.
However, a technical issue caused us to be unable to push the Ubuntu packages for this version of BassBoom, which made it unavailable for those who rely on our Ubuntu PPA to install BassBoom to their Ubuntu systems.
We sincerely apologize for the unavailability of the Launchpad PPA packages for BassBoom v1.0, but it was out of our control and we couldn’t solve it ourselves.
Today, we have made the BassBoom v1.0 package available in our Launchpad PPA, which you can check out here.
Additionally, we have finalized the support periods for future BassBoom versions, which you can find here.
