Programmer, author & tech lover making games & apps for mobile & desktop. Creator of Home Remote... also quite a bit of 3D printing and laser cutting. Will toot about #iOS, #Dev, #Xbox, #VR, #RetroGaming, #Gaming, #3DPrinting and #LaserCutting… and #Cats… lots of #Cats.

Saw Jurassic World: Rebirth in 4DX 3D last night… a fantastic set up for a film like that.

Film itself was better than I expected too.

This little area always gets really grotty where the washing detergent drips from the dispenser after use. If you have a wash ball spare then you still have to line it up.

Got fed up and made this little tray that means you can always line the ball up easily, and if there isn’t a ball there to catch any drips, it will sit inside the easily removable tray.

Gotta test that safeAreaInsets code on iPad now that it changes dynamically as you approach the status bar area
No notes.
wow, the PC port of Toy Story was done by one programmer who was not given the source code and only the SNES graphics. He had to play the game over and over to replicate it by observation. https://bsky.app/profile/mayoraponte.bsky.social/post/3ltnt2ksl7s2f #gamedev

@h_thoreson software engineers will increasingly become systems builders. We're not going away but the job is going to change a lot.

With a few exceptions, it's going to be tough to make a career out of being an expert in the minutiae of $tech_stack. A good senior eng can use a coding agent to fluidly move between tech stacks they may not actually know very well.

Did any #Nintendo fans see the custom 'Mecha SP' prototype this user shared?

Insane amounts of sanding, scribing and even a moving piston integrated. This #design might be a prototype for now, but it looks pretty complete to me.

This is maybe my fav part of #HandheldGaming and its community - the custom builds and making these old handhelds their own visions. Clear #Gundam references in this one, I think!

Somebody wanted a colour that I don’t offer on Etsy. I managed to source some Perspex
that was the deep, transparent blue that they wanted and it looks _amazing_.
