I thought that some blue might make the forest-y areas feel less overly focused on just green and brown, and an easy way to get some blue in there is to have a gradient in the background. I think this looks really nice!

I think it could also be good to put some water at the bottom with some kind of parallax, maybe?

Looks like I'm back in the game (literally and figuratively). Small changes to #CustomizableJrpg: it now shows the correct player name when attacking, and a consistent message when damaged.

Checked feedback on #RPGMakerUNITE and it seems like it's slow, really slow, and maybe bloated. Plus, with Unity making weird decisions, is it going to survive long-term?

Anyone else think that there must be a better, faster, lightweight way of making 2D RPGs?

Something less fancy and feature-rich, but functional and fast to use? Nothing pre-Unite works on Linux, either. (VX Ace was ideal for prototyping, IMO)
