If there is one thing I’ve learned (and that’s being generous) from caring for my brother it’s that the line between disabled and abled (physically, intellectually, developmentally, etc.) is much more porous, unfixed, and ephemeral than we want to admit; attempting to rigidly categorize and classify ourselves and others ‘once and for all’ is at best futile.

@dave I think this is a typical cross-border difference. Lots of folks in Brockville used to drive the 20 minutes across the border to NY for vet care because the cost was so much less. Probably some regional cost differences, too, but I think the former is the biggest factor.

❄️ Happy Solstice 2022 ❄️

A little different kind of #Solstice fire than the one we usually light, but that's okay. Everything's a little different this year. This #winter is full of so much to look forward to as the light returns. For now, we relish the cozy, slow, sleepy days of deep winter, grateful for heat, running water, power, and each other's company.
