Love this new sign on the Clyde Walkway, but it definitely falls into the Keep Glasgow Weird category. It's one of a number of signs inspired by Science Fiction movies around the city's Science Centre created by A Sign of Humour.

status: practicing saying NO

I used to think packaged pre-cut veg at the supermarket was for lazy people.

Then a disabled person pointed out it was a lifeline for them because they lived alone and couldnโ€™t cut it up themselves most days.

I had never even considered that. It changed my perspective and I think from then on when something seems โ€œlazyโ€ I always ask myself โ€œis this just accessible?โ€
And itโ€™s nearly always the latter.

Itโ€™s not hard to listen to someone when they say something is not accessible and itโ€™s not difficult to shift your perspective.
I donโ€™t know why so many people wonโ€™t.

Whatever this cat got caught doing, they were obviously framed. They'll happily do it again, but they're clearly innocent! Just look at them :3

For those working on managing log ingestion, it's worth taking a look at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-ds/plan/appendix-l--events-to-monitor if you haven't recently.

Last update was in May and it lists Windows Server eventIDs by monitoring priority.

Was working on ingestion stuff and it appears 1 event ID accounting for 60% of our Windows ingestion has no real security value.

I'm looking at doing a series of interviews on what activists and politicians around the world would do to resist the decline into fascism if they were in America right now. Would you read that? Would you read the hell out of it?
This is 100% some of my friends ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Wyvernsridge As an American, I endorse this message.
@Wyvernsridge I'd rather visit Cleveland than anywhere in the South or Idaho and Montana.
@IveyJanette @Wyvernsridge Iโ€™d rather visit Copenhagen than Cleveland.
Or Calgary than Idaho.
Or Canada Bay, NSW than Montana.

@canleaf @Wyvernsridge ANYWHERE but Florida!

I'd rather go back home to Los Angeles than visit Orlando.

@Wyvernsridge as a black Floridian, I approve of this message.
@Wyvernsridge
If you really want to come here, having South Sudan or El Salvador added to your trip for free may not be the bargain it sounds like.
US campaign entices Canada tourists: โ€œCome visit America and also maybe El Salvador!โ€

OTTAWA - Following months of declining Canadian travel to the USA, Americans have launched a tourism campaign inviting Canadians to visit locations like New York, Austin, and possibly even take an all-expenses paid bonus visit to a notorious El Salvadorian mega-prison.

The Beaverton

@Beltliner403 @bitsnpieces @Wyvernsridge
And this is exactly why the US tourism industry is currently in a state of collapse.

If you own a US business that depends on tourism, maybe you should have tried harder to get Kamala elected.

@tofugolem @Beltliner403 @bitsnpieces @Wyvernsridge #auspol is not much better - has to be said ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

They have - like the U.S. - detention center tooโ€ฆ

@bsm @tofugolem @Beltliner403 @bitsnpieces @Wyvernsridge What is it about colonies of the British Empire โ€ฆ?
Canadians travelling to the US advised to not fucking do that

OTTAWA - Canadians thinking of planning a trip to the United States are being advised by the Government of Canada to perhaps consider going anywhere else on the entire fucking planet for their summer vacations.

Try Martinique. The beaches are way better.
@Wyvernsridge It also needs to be Alt texted, I think.

[Prohibitory symbol] STOP TRAVELING TO AMERICA.

Itโ€™s not safe โ€” and your tourist dollars are funding fascism.

IF YOUโ€™RE NOT AMERICAN:

  • Stay away. This is not the country you think it is.
  • Detention camps are being built faster than shelters.
  • Rights are being stripped faster than laws can be challenged.

IF YOUโ€™RE AMERICAN:

  • Stop going to Florida.
  • They built a concentration camp in 8 days.
  • Thousands of people are being detained โ€” not for crimes, but for existing in the wrong ZIP code, for speaking the wrong language, or for not having the right paperwork.

Instead of housing the homeless, feeding children, or funding healthcareโ€ฆ theyโ€™re building cages in the swamp.

DISNEY ISNโ€™T WORTH IT.

THE BEACHES ARENโ€™T WORTH IT.

YOUR DOLLARS SHOULD NOT SUPPORT FASCISM.

DONโ€™T BE A TOURIST IN TYRANNY

โ€œThe pace of repression outstrips our ability to understand it. โ€ฆItโ€™s easier to hide behind forty atrocities than a single incident.โ€
โ€” Karis Nemik (Alex Lawther), โ€œAndor: The Axe Forgetsโ€ (Susanna Wright, 2022)
@Wyvernsridge florida is not America. Flawridah IS Archetypal murrica, however.

@gentlegardener @Wyvernsridge

I think no one would be surprised to learn there are thousands of "pocket Florida's" all the freak over the US.

@Wyvernsridge If you're thinking of visiting #Hawaii, please remember: a) We're as blue a state as it gets, with zero Republican representatives in Congress; b) Our state government has sued the administration multiple times and stands in solidarity with #immigrants and #trans folks; and c) If you spend as many of your travel dollars as possible with local businesses, you're helping us #resist.
@BruceMirken @Wyvernsridge You still need to pass federal CBP and customs. The czars can call the ICE to every of the US entitรฉs like US VI, American Samoaโ€ฆ
@BruceMirken @Wyvernsridge While I can identify with the pain of seeing good people in the industry hurt (my circles are museum and art folks in a red-run purple state, one of whom relocated from HI), nearly everything I see from indigenous Hawaiโ€™ians the last fifteen years has been begging tourists to stop coming to Hawaiโ€™i. I have worried that eventually thereโ€™d be a hard crunch on that economy sooner or later. This may be the chance for a slowdown transition instead.
@cwicseolfor @Wyvernsridge It's a little more complicated than that. There's a vocal faction that wants tourism gone, but roughly 16,000 native Hawaiians work in tourism-related industries, per state figures. Many of us of all ethnicities wish we were less dependent on tourism, but we need something to replace it.

@BruceMirken @Wyvernsridge

Visit New England...we have blue states, but ya still need to get through whatever bullshit awaits you at the airports.

@Sfwmson @BruceMirken @Wyvernsridge And at Landcrossing you are also at risk. Not just airports. As much I loved Maine.

@Wyvernsridge

@yinwolf
This is the reason I said you can't come visit. I promise it's not that I don't want to see you. It's that I don't want you disappeared!
For your own safety... STAY AWAY!

We can see each other again after the fascists are removed. Until then, we have the internet.

@Wyvernsridge

Good advice. Catchy bottom line: โ€œDonโ€™t be a tourist in tyrannyโ€. ๐Ÿ˜

@Wyvernsridge it's worth translating this to French and German and maybe Japanese. I lack the skills.
@the_turtle just did the Spanish version. Now on for the other languages [thanks for the idea!]
@Wyvernsridge harsh watching America self implode. When card carrying Democrats are pistol whipped and hog tied, protecting due process, the dream of Dr Kingโ€™s speech evaporates on the tear gas of masked white men once again. But just try and make me go sit on the back of the bus, Amazon.

@Wyvernsridge

@Wyvernsridge Disney World isn't worth it under any circumstance.
@Wyvernsridge Reposting with alt text.
@oheso @Wyvernsridge people from Canada are American but oh well...
@Quenti @oheso @Wyvernsridge people should always come to Brazil (also in America)
@Quenti @oheso @Wyvernsridge No, they're not. Words can have different meanings in different contexts; in this context, "American" obviously refers to the USA.
@denisbloodnok @oheso @Wyvernsridge change obviously to "wrongly". Canada is in the american continent. End of story.
@Quenti Wrong, because as just discussed, words can have different meanings in different contexts.
@oheso @Wyvernsridge some of this is true for the UK as well.
@oheso @Wyvernsridge "Detention camps are being built faster than shelters".
Surely,
"Detention camps are being built faster than shelters are being torn down".
@oheso @Wyvernsridge
Come to Disneys in Paris, if you really want to see Disney. For people from Europe it's nearer anyway.
@oheso
And if you're Floridian, either leave or take advantage of your state's gun rights.
@Wyvernsridge
@oheso @Wyvernsridge honestly, how do I approach this if someone from Canada wants to visit me. I don't know how to tell them I'm interested, yet worried for their safety....
@LeatherCubAndrew @oheso @Wyvernsridge Advice them not to come. The border isn't safe for anyone.

@madjo I will let them know using that framing. Thank you.

"As much as I would love a visit from you, I am concerned about the horrors committed by my country at the border and would be concerned for your safety"

@oheso @Wyvernsridge

@Wyvernsridge

> โ€œthe beaches arenโ€™t worth itโ€

the west coast has red tides, the east coast has seaweed harboring flesh-eating bacteria

@Wyvernsridge It's not safe to come here for any reason. They will search your phone when you arrive and if you have something they don't like on there, they will unlawfully detain you.
@Wyvernsridge I live in Florida, and I support this message.
@Wyvernsridge This country is safer than it has been in years and it's THANKS to the removal of criminals. Quit being so dramatic.
@JakobFel @Wyvernsridge As a foreigner tourist, you have a huggggeee target on your back. What if mate, you are declared illegal by the iCE? A society in fear of the ICE is not safer. It is much more dangerous these days with Nazi thugs.
@Wyvernsridge
The poster forgot "being the wrong color".
@RealGene @Wyvernsridge
Wrong gender, wrong love preference, not all hotels booked through, wrong stopover via Hongkong, wrong images, wrong texts.
@Wyvernsridge @annecavicchi It IS the country they think it is, actually. Signed: Australian now living in the US.
@Wyvernsridge In Germany we say about that: #Aussieland ๐Ÿฆ˜instead of #Amiland ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ, #Ahornland ๐ŸInstead of #Amiland
@Wyvernsridge When I was much younger I used to fantasize about being an american citizen, I guess because of the US' total cultural dominance during the '80s in my country--when you turned on the TV there was a good chance an american tv show was running.
Now I can't even imagine going there for tourism, let alone to live. eww.
