Social Media uses sophisticated psychology to addict people.

Those likes and shares are a randomized reward schedule, just like the lever that sometimes produced food pellets in the experiment.

They need you on their platform as much as possible so that you see more advertising.

This shit should have been regulated long ago. At the very minimum, there should have been a warning to parents.

Meanwhile, Sortor & his rage bait content creation was one of the main influences that inaugurated a season of new MAGA content vigilantes targeting the PDX anti-ICE protests night after night.

It has gotten dangerous. Last weekend, a particularly unstable MAGA agitator, Shane Carroll, brandished a gun and aimed it at anti-ICE protestors. As of today, he has not even been questioned by local law enforcement.

Yet an anti-ICE protestor who yelled at Nick Sortor to leave because he was being aggressive & had been begging the President on Twitter to unleash the military on the city, is facing a trial today, where Nick will be testifying against them.

The US media didn't become useless overnight.

During WW2, they decided to “Do their part” for the war effort. This meant becoming propagandists and doing exactly the opposite of what the Fourth Estate is supposed to do in a free country.

This might have been recoverable had they gone back to being watchdogs on power immediately after WW2. Unfortunately, they decided to keep doing it during the Cold War.

Now, it is simply habit. They have gotten worse and worse ever since.
