status: practicing saying NO
getting asked to do/join/keynote/answer things is often gratifying and humbling but man do they add up...
@bagder I've done only keynote and I did it so badly nobody has asked me to do another since. In case you want them to stop asking...
@bagder so I can't invite you to tell me bedtime stories? 🥺
@bagder I've been asked to do the QEMU keynote at KVM Forum this year. I'm told your talks are an exemplar for use of data.

@bagder I recently said no in production, so to speak

Proud of myself :)

@bagder

And now I'm sing a song from the 90's:
🎶🎵
No no,
no no no no,
no no no no,
no no

there's no limit!
🎶🎵

(Song: "No limit" from "2 unlimited")

@DevWouter @bagder But I can only hear this sung by Jane Horrocks as Bubbles.

@justmichelle

🤣

Just watched it, lucky for me I have seen the MTV clip often enough that it doesn’t affect me.

@bagder I had a colleague who could have used that practice. He was very well liked, and very talented, but he let people walk all over him, and always ended up doing the most soul-crushing tasks for someone.

Unsurprisingly, he ended up burning out.

Be like Daniel, practice saying NO regularly!

Before you continue to YouTube

@bagder You need an assistant. Or fake an assistant, so you don't need to feel the pressure from society.
@bagder isn't that what the HTTP 4xx range is for?

@bagder

Feels good, doesn't it 💪
