Auto workers are demanding a 40% raise to match the 40% pay increase CEOs of the Detroit automakers got over the past 4 years.

CEOs are calling this absurd, but they couldn't be more wrong.

THIS IS A COMPROMISE. Why? Because worker's real wages have fallen 30% over the past 20 years. They're foregoing 16 years of wage theft for 4 of equity, and consistent equity going forward. That's basic justice.

Pay workers. Unionize workers. Tax billionaires. Save our economy.

There are a couple houses newly on the market on my block. I just hung up a rainbow flag in my front window to make sure prospective neighbors either feel welcome or feel like looking elsewhere.
Fun to participate in a panel on open source that was 100% women and had absolutely nothing to do with being a woman in open source. I hope one day this will be so commonplace I don't even notice it.

Been around for a really long time.

Still relevant.

I’m really having outstanding success ripening all my tomatoes inside. I’m on the Puget Sound in the PNW, and it’s so cool the fruit takes ages to ripen on the vine. So I just pick them early - the Romas when they start to go orange, and the heirlooms when they start to get soft to the touch.
I pick about every two days, and the leftmost tomatoes in this photo were picked on Thursday. I should sauce the ripest two-thirds of the counter today.

Life is short. Use the fancy olive oil and the special salt. Drink the expensive wine and the fine spirits you've been saving. Get out the nice plates you're worried will break. Buy the guillotine you've had your eye on. Stake out and learn the routines of billionaires. Blow that rainy day money on turning inside sources. Don't waste your life on what-ifs. Behead them all and let the revolution sing.

This is amazing! So much food waste can be eliminated this way.

I'm working up some ideas for a round table at a conference around the topic of how to support students through physical and mental health crisis and trauma

Not that I am an expert by a long shot, but the need is, so huge, and its a constant topic of discussion

Anyone have resources/ideas?

hey. as a fat guy. do y'all mind not making shitty comments about the bastard's weight? for like three fucking seconds? fat people deserve more than to be the butt of your jokes about objectively awful people that already have incredibly memeable traits. get better material.
