Its easy for trolls to get a patent in US Patent law, copyright law, and trademark law. It happens literally all the time. It happens all the time in fiber arts.
What am I proposing people do? I don't know. I'm just informing folks. Its exhausting and annoying.
If the owners had just marketed their designs and kept their mouth shut... it wouldn't be as outrageous? The designs are lovely. But they didn't file a patent for the ARTWORK.

This company Lemonwood openly sent cease and desist letters to small businesses selling this "yarn minder": a wooden or acrylic wrist yarn holder that swivels.
You can 3d print these yourself. You can buy little kits from large companies like Knitpicks/Wecrochet. You can laser cut these. Etc.
The designs look lovely on their own. Its a shame this person is badgering smaller businesses for selling a yarn holder that has existed for decades.
When you're in progressive spaces, terms are thrown around a lot and its known what they meant. More people need to know these terms.

I didn't need another hobby, but here we are. I'm learning to crochet.
One day, I will crochet my partner a tea cosy he's been wanting to get, but for now, learning the different types of stitches, starting with the single and double.
Treble and maybe magic circle tomorrow.
And then one day, I will make amigurumi. And a blanket. And little jewelry things. And then maybe combine cross stitching and crocheting, if that's a thing. The options are endless!
