hey. as a fat guy. do y'all mind not making shitty comments about the bastard's weight? for like three fucking seconds? fat people deserve more than to be the butt of your jokes about objectively awful people that already have incredibly memeable traits. get better material.
whenever you crack jokes about bad people's weights, it reinforces the idea that fat = bad and thin = good. that idea kills fat people, including people you supposedly call comrades. don't do that.
to be clear: fuck that guy! i hope he rots! but your fat jokes about him aren't really about him. they're about me and people like me, who have nothing to do with him and don't deserve this every time he does something. and they hurt. it's worn out and not even remotely funny and makes you just as cruel and uncaring in your own small ways.
to be clear, anyone in the replies who is annoying and incorrect is getting muted or blocked depending on your level of annoying, so like. do not even bother.
@flowers I fully understand and agree with the point you make. But i also just got up. Who is this about?
@flowers THAT jerk will never see those “clever” cutting comments. Meanwhile lovely people of many sizes will see just how shallow other people’s pov’s are.
@flowers Thanks for this. It’s so easy to pick on someone based on their appearance, and people think it’s fine because their target is the Very Bad Man, but they’re oblivious to the collateral damage.

It’s not just weight.

The other day there was a toot that was railing against Rudy. It was fine, and I agreed with maybe 90% of it.

Then there was a bit about how people around the world “wouldn’t respect him (alcoholic, cross-dressing, remarried)” and I was like come ON! Completely unnecessary, and took digs at people already going through enough.

Drafted several replies, but ended up not sending any. Didn’t feel like getting into a possible argument, and didn’t feel that articulate.

@LukeF @flowers it's like the "Putin and Trump R GAY!!!" jokes. It's just outright homophobia.
@flowers especially since the person we are (assumingly) talking about has so many other REAL flaws to criticize. I’ve never understood this behavior. They did the same thing to Lizzo the other day. As soon as people said she done something wrong, the fatphobia flooded the internet
@flowers it also kills thin people. Eating disorders are born from fat shaming. Fat shaming kills.
@flowers
I appreciate the reminder. I try to keep my comments about words and actions, but do mention the weird hair and orange tint, because those are choices. He wasn't born orange, or with a dead weasel on his head. 😁

@flowers I don’t understand why people can’t see the difference between cutting an egotistic narcissistic liar piece of shit down by exposing his lies, and regular people who might be overweight. Come on.

Are you suggesting that we don’t push back at lies because other people who may weigh 300 pounds might get their feelings hurt? Come on.

@maggiemaybe @flowers

"... people can’t see the difference between cutting a ... piece of shit down by exposing his lies, and regular people who might be overweight."

I'm trying to parse the intent here

@flowers It's not his weight. It is his lies (about his weight and everything else).
@flowers This is one of the probs I have with Harry Potter on top of the transphobia.
@flowers There are so many worthier, more imperative things to go after him for. His body is completely beside the point.

@cwwilkie @flowers whenever I call him a monster for tearing families apart at the border he just gets a boner :/

The most moral way to hurt his feelings is just repeating over and over again how unpopular he is and how he's hated. Maybe attack his supporters? calling them low class would be most effective because he's awful. Say his tacky taste is why all his businesses fail. Style which no one who CAN afford it likes. It's why he attracts such trash people who can't even save him.
Loser brand

@flowers I would never make fun of a person’s weight, I do make an exception for that orange creature since it uses other’s appearances & weight against them. You are correct, there are many other reasons to loathe the orange one, thank you for pointing this out. I will do better.
@flowers it's about hypocrisy, not weight. But I get ya.
@flowers You know for me, the only thing that's ever been funny is how he's lying about his weight, how he's deliberately and ridiculously trying to gaslight his followers about his health, his virility, everything. If he weren't a pathological liar no one would put up with the jokes. I hope.

@flowers Just like we say it's not the crime, it's the cover up. It's not the weight, it's the lying about the weight. He lied about his height, too.

It's the obvious lying. The vanity, the narcissism.

No one thinks John Goodman or John Candy are bad because they're fat.

I'm 6' 1" #265, btw.

@flowers the issue isn’t his weight; it is his body shaming of others while lying about his own weight. I wouldn’t care about his weight if HE hadn’t made it an issue.
@nasmaz Do you think that body shaming Trump decreases the amount of body shaming that others are subjected to?
@claude_cahun again, targeting his hypocrisy about everything, not just his weight.
@flowers But I like the ones about his "hair".
@flowers Agreed! It was never cool to begin with

@flowers

I'd also add: any physical trait you're savaging Trump for having, plenty of perfectly lovely people share too.

Get a fucking grip.

@flowers I haven’t commented about his weight because I share your distaste for fat shaming. The lie does demonstrate his delusional tendencies to ask us to deny what we see with our own eyes & instead believe his lies, but that’s how he approaches so much — his claims about business skills, inauguration crowd, Jan 6, etc. We don’t need to talk about his weight to point out that flaw.
@flowers @drahardja I have been saying this for years. And yet, people tell me I am just too sensitive about my weight and I need to “love yourself more.” Thanks Dr. Phil!

@flowers I feel this too, it's like as soon as someone does something bad it suddenly becomes free game to say whatever they want about them. It happens with famous trans people, like the suddenly don't deserve their name and pronouns after committing a crime

And as a fat trans guy I feel both of these XD
