Retired corporate insurance executive (not the kind you'd want to kill) who hated every minute of work - especially the last 10 years

Unapologetic Boomer - I had no choice when my parents were doing it

Now, i watch a lot of movies, drink gravy, drink bourbon and drink coffee and as an old person no longer fear death -since death fears me

Laughing about stuff is my number one priority

A ★★★★ review of If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025)

Rose Byrne delivers a career-best performance, a performance that in any other year might cop the best actress Oscar but all the prognosticators have said that Jessie Buckley will win it, as Linda, a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown and having to deal with a sick child, an unsupportive and critical husband who is away for several weeks, a bad therapist and a ceiling that collapses, forcing her and her daughter to live in a shabby motel. She can’t sleep and spends her nights drinking wine and smoking marijuana and her days as a psychotherapist dealing with

#Watching WHISTLE

Marginally entertaining 20somethings-playing-teens horror movie with serviceable kills and a better cast than this movie deserves to keep you mildly invested even though everything is pretty derivative.

A ★★½ review of Whistle (2025)

Marginally entertaining 20somethings-playing-teens horror movie with serviceable kills and a better cast than this movie deserves to keep you mildly invested even though everything is pretty derivative. The comparisons to the Final Destination franchise are warranted. Since there are about 500 of those, think of Whistle as a better than average Final Destination movie. The movie asks you to buy a white guy is the best player on the basketball court if you're wondering how much to suspend your disbelief. Since you're other options are a Kevin James movie and the idiotic The Strangers finale, you might just want to

A ★★ review of The Carpenter's Son (2025)

We are told early on that this movie is based upon The Infancy Gospel of Thomas, which depicts a young Jesus in full possession of divine power who is already dispensing wisdom with authority, even at an early age. The opening scene, of course, takes place merely in Anno Domini because that’s when Christ was born- if you believe the stories. I don’t so why am I watching a story of Jesus? Because it’s a horror film and with Nicolas Cage as Joseph, Jesus’ dad - so what’s not to like?   As the opening shows us, the local officials

If anyone watches QUEEN OF CHESS on Netflix please pause it at 22:42 and tell me that isn’t Stephen Fry

A ★★★ review of Fulltime Killer (2001)

Generically fun hitman action movie that does nothing to advance the genre but is a sufficient enough diversion from your parents telling you that you're adopted even though you're white and your adopted parents are black and Asian and an odd fusion of all three. You can see most of what's coming but the capably directed action sequences keep you from getting bored. If you're a part time killer it may not make you want to go fulltime.

A ★★★ review of Slow West (2015)

Slow West is both slow and west. A slow moving Western that keeps you awake with bursts of violence and Michael Fassbender. More than watchable, but it feels like a slog more often than it should. Kodi Smit-McPhee is is sketchy in chaps. Movie #657 in which Fassbender shows his penis.

A ★★★ review of Shelter (2026)

So I am writing this introductory paragraph before I even see the movie because I wanted to go to the 1:10 show of Primate and then when I looked at my Regal app there was only a 12:30 show of Primate so I had to take Shelter.  Mason is a recluse living on his island all by his lonesome with his dog. He receives supplies from a girl named Jessie and her uncle. When a storm hits, the uncle drowns and Mason rescues Jessie. But she needs aid from a town on the mainland and he reluctantly goes. His appearance

A ★★★ review of I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not (2025)

“My apologies” “For what?” “For being how I am” The ending of this documentary sums up basically how you are supposed to feel about its subject.  It is undeniable that Chevy Chase had a meteoric rise, a crumbling fall, and then a comeback of sorts, all the way having a legion of devoted fans because of Clark Griswold, his Everyman character.  It is also undeniable that Chevy Chase treated everyone around him like crap.  He’s no John Candy.  Still, WATCH IT 3/5
