APOD: 2022 December 18 - The 25 Brightest Stars in the Night Sky

A different astronomy and space science related image is featured each day, along with a brief explanation.

So I understand that the bird site has started blocking links to common/known Mastodon instances, and that doesn't seem like free speech to me. So... I did a thing.

If you go to https://spacekaren.sucks it is now a URL shortener that blocks the twitter user agent. That means you can share that link that will redirect to your Mastodon account without the pouty baby stopping you. If you find this helpful can you boost so others can find it? #TwitterMigration #Mastodon #Musk #introduction

Space Karen Sucks

Free speech really should be free. To bypass the new censorship regime at twitter, use this URL shortener to link to Mastodon or other censored destinations. Considering recent policy decisions on twitter, please be aware that use of links generated from this site may constitute a violation of their policy.

Morning all!

I thought I'd share this image of #TennysonDown on the #IsleofWight , taken a couple of years ago by my husband.

This view shows the #MilitaryRoad which has been recognised as one of the most beautiful drives in the UK. On a couple of occasions each year the sun sets in this position and lights up the road. You have to be there at the right time and the weather needs to be kind!

A rare image of Snow, Sand and Sea Together.

Location: Western coast of Japan.

Good evening.
Today, November 30, is the final day of my year-long project of photographing the trees, plants and wildlife of my local woodland, Cadoc's Wood, to reflect the seasonal changes.
I have a small book planned and the local authority, who constructed a path through the wood, have agreed to host an exhibition in local libraries in the new year, which I am hugely excited about.
These are some of the images that will feature, I hope you like them.
