Uh... wow. Unity is digging their own grave here. I don't think any reasonable developer would agree to this, but it's even being applied retroactively.

Unity plan pricing and packaging updates | Unity Blog

In January 2024, Unity will introduce a new Unity Runtime Fee based on game installs. Prior to this, Unity subscription plans will add cloud-based asset storage, Unity DevOps tools, and AI at runtime at no additional cost.

do not fight it! is important.

I'm working on a #diorama that my #ModelRailroad club will show off at train shows.

Because it will travel, everything on it needs to be sturdy and able to be handled. However, because I will need to do maintenance on it, I'll need to be able to remove buildings and whatnot to access the internals.

My thought is that I would use hot glue for the parts I'm still working on, but my worry is that when the module is being stored in the club trailer the glue will soften and melt.

Anyone have any ideas?

Got to show off the #NScale tornado scene I worked on at a #ModelTrain show a couple months back!

The tornado comes down from the clouds and touches down in the town before it goes back up... leaving the nearby trailer park untouched. 😉

It was a huge hit and I'm excited to have gotten it working for the show!

@_benui - I've been meaning to mention this for a while, but in your excellent #unrealengine UPROPERTY guide (https://benui.ca/unreal/uproperty/ if anyone hasn't seen it) you suggest avoiding `ForceUnits`.

There _are_ use-cases for `ForceUnits`. For some reason Unreal 4 (can't speak to 5) _loves_ to auto-convert "seconds" to "minutes". Very annoying when you're trying to specify a 5-second magic cast time and you need to convert to minutes.

Because of that, I use ForceUnits for any time-related metadata.

Sample code, screenshots and comments for all specifiers, including undocumented ones.

Number 1?! Number 1! #Mastodon #TwitterMigration

Been assembling my #PrusaResearch enclosure for my #3dPrinter and safety inspector Moo Moo had to come by and make sure everything was up to code.

I've read many requests to add Mastodon links to GitHub profiles for verification and discovery purposes.

My team is working on allowing you to add a number of social profile links, but given upcoming holiday vacations, it won't ship until the new year. We don't want to rush something out at the potential cost of disrupting what is generally a quiet time for our engineers.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't talk about in progress work on social media, but y'all seem like you can keep a secret.

Woot! @TechConnectify is on Mastodon! Happy to see more familiar faces. :)
