First ladybird came out of hibernation - in my car! Seems ridiculously early! It’s got to work hoovering up aphids on my scented geranium in the conservatory. Did you know that the collective noun for ladybirds is a ‘loveliness’! How perfect is that. #ladybird #gardeningforwildlife #ecogardening #lookaftertheinvertibrates #planetbeforeprofit #organicfree
@pdrd1970 Apologies for the delay in replying. I’ve been unwell. I’ve not heard that expression and like you tried to look it up to no avail. It was maybe a local thing. The only thing I could find is that wood sorrel has traditionally been used in Norway and other Scandinavian countries to accompany cheese as its acidity cuts through the fat of cheese. Maybe a link there? Interesting how these things develop isn’t it.

Ox-eye daisies are bumblebee super-plants. But with 97% of UK wildflower meadows gone, they're now too rare a sight. That’s why gardens and community green spaces are vital for bumblebees and other pollinators - so please create a haven for these essential insects with nectar-rich planting 🐝

Next year, please let the dandelions grow!
🐝 They support over 50 insects species
🐝 They're a great early season food source for pollinators including bees, butterflies and hoverflies
🐝 Birds eat the seeds in autumn
🐝 No need to mow
And please don't use weedkiller!

Shooting stars across Yr Wyddfa and a frozen Llyn Y Dywarchen last night. So many shooting stars, I almost ran out of wishes for every one!

Bitterly cold, but crystal clear and bright. I'm sure I might, maybe, just about, definitely, have heard sleigh bells in the distance.... 🎅❄️⛰️🎄🌠🌌
