#introduction- I am a qualitative researcher interested in communication in clinical settings. I research how clinicians and patients communicate together about health behaviour change, and look at the longer term effects of communication, using #ConversationAnalysis, & #ThematicAnalysis.

Never really did an #introduction post, so here goes:

I'm an #ObGyn, with a subspecialty in complex #FamilyPlanning.

I'm on faculty at #BrownUniversity, where I research family planning #HealthPolicy and #MedicalEthics.

I'm also a #Quaker, and am proud to tell folks that for me, providing patient-centered #abortion, #birth, and #SexualHealth care is an act of #conscience.

Figured now is a good time for an #introduction. I am a freelance writer and editor that focuses on the topics of neurodiversity, mental health, and disability. My debut book came out 2 months ago: Stumbling Through Space + Time: Living Life With Dyspraxia". I also serve on the board of trustees of Dyspraxic Me, a charity for dyspraxic teens + young adults. I am also a very openly dyspraxic + neurodivergent person, although I used to be terrified of public disclosure of my diagnosis.

I feel, as part of my initiation into this space, I must talk about my love of #Medieval elephants.

Yes, you heard me. You see, though bestiaries were very common in Western Europe, elephants were not.

So things like this happen.

"SO... lion body... got it, cloven hooves, okay, big ears and dead bird eyes... long snake face... PERFECTION."

Hi πŸ‘‹ I am an NIH funded perinatal #psychiatrist researching the maternal #microbiome and it’s impact on the
developing 🧠 during prenatal stress. I am also the social media editor for Biological Psychiatry and the Society of Biological Psychiatry. I also post about #WomenInMedicine #WomenInScience

#introduction

Hi! πŸ‘‹ I'm Merel.

I'm interested in how people reflect on their #learning. What do #scholars learn academically and personally from teaching? What do #students think they learn from different types of education? How can a #reflective start help students' transition into higher education? I work as assistant professor at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. I enjoy #gardening (talking about learning!), #reading, and #cycling along #rivers.

My introduction to you wonderful people. So I am Rose Marie Maughan an Irish Traveller woman, Traveller human rights activist working towards social justice, equity for all in Ireland. Been working with the Irish Traveller Movement for 20 yrs and sadly in terms of the injustice us Travellers face in Ireland very little has changed. All our stats are way beyond crisis point e.g. only 3% reach 65yrs! 83% unemployed, 11% of all deaths by suicide so we truly need all our allies standing with us.
@DrLynseyM Hi Lynsey, I’m interested in #traumainformed care and its application in the #criminaljusticesystem - be grateful for any tips on reading πŸ™‚
