Just said to my beloved Akeelah, a rescue from the UAE (United Arab Emirates) living in Virginia for the last 6 years:

"What do you want?
Look, you have a treat.
You have food, very expensive food, too.
I am NOT giving the dead mouse back!
I think this treat is a fair exchange for the mouse."

It was a very serious conversation.
