Okay for real

I have, pretty much, the prompts here are the first time I share my thoughts and plans with others in an open way. Prior to that I only had private test readers and I still wouldn't call myself a Writer/Author. (also this sounds way to masculine for my liking Me/German problems reflecting I guess).

I'm still insecure if I'm inclusive enough, at the moment my male characters have a way to thin representation and the body diversity I want to reach is not given by a all human ship all soldiers...
The first is do to my own sexism (it's a age old topic I'm working against every day).
And if my approach about skin colors works well will be seen.
I really try to be as inclusive as possible because I know how it feels to be excluded. But

2/2 internalized stereorypes are problematic and can be dangerous and hard to get rid of without turning them 180°.

Especially if you still haven't realized it yet, there might be a lot of traps I may fall in especially in the future but I try my best to learn about my own short comings and try to iron them out like with AJ. I struggle hard with non binary people (especially in German) this is why AJ is the Antagonist. Now I only have to make sure that I don't vilify them more than hens character allows or make them a pop up/cut out enby/parody.

413. What is your MC’s go-to comfort food?

As I laid out in detail before for why it is. Honey Toast and despite me hating bread without any form of fat between bread and topping she just puts Real honey on real bread (she doesn't likes the EPI version even as good as the Ghoz'Tarc's are thanks to her memory being used to improve it by A.S.H.L.E.I.).

For Arkham I have no clue at all rn ...
Might be some Alien food not for human consumption just for a sort of hangover...

414. How strong is your SC’s sense of intuition? Do they ever fear that it’s only paranoia?

Trust your guts is a common concept for Alliance and or Union military service members.
It's also important to feel in which case you are acting on an Alliance's behalf or on a Union's behalf. As always between them there are differences.
Every Alliance member has sworn to protect the world's and citizens of the Union while Union military Services are more focused on keeping the local challenges at bay, that said the Alliance has to fall in line under the Unions order while UMS members are not have to follow Alliance orders, that's why the Alliance fought hard to get the Shades up and running that have the power to take control over UMS forces.

From all SC's I consider Talisa as the one that is most in balance with her intuition that's also why she is the crews "Mom" of choice. And no it's not paranoia to her.

415 Does your MC have a strong morality? Does this cause trouble for them?

The impossible codex.
Protect every Intelligent live that can not protect itself against or wishes to be protected from the Eltaryn.
Eradicate Eltaryn threats as quickly as possible.
Protect the Union, it's members and it's core values at all cost.
If possible clear situations with diplomacy.
The needs of the many out weight the needs of the few, however the rights of the few need to be valued equally.
Do not take justice into your own hands, leave it to the Union authority.

The codex is an outline meet to remind the Alliance soldiers to be swift, vigilant but especially honorable and fair.
However fairness depends on the recipient as much as it does on the judge...

There is a huge difference in being right and having the right on its site.

Going back home, to his wife (Dana 39) and their three daughters (Johanna Orlea 10, Gwendolyn Sabrena 14, Germa Andraste 16) while the war is going on, pretending to be a normal father, doing a day job. Don't get him wrong, he loves his family, but his wife agreed to this & his daughters are empathetic enough to understand that someone has to do the job he does. Does it make things easier? No especially not on a radio silent mission. It would almost kill him to know he doesn't defend the Union, that he doesn't protect the future for his daughters and his loving wife/ mother of hie three "little devils" (don't dare to call them that, it's a privilege only for the parents).
At the end of his day he often kisses the physical picture of his family while writing the. a letter what he did today cleared off all sensitive info-

There are persons that feel responsibility for their family but also for their fellow people they share their life with. For William it is the normal thing to do and he is not bad in it. Putting him into an office would push him to the limit. He needs to be there, protect others so parents don't have to mourn the loss of her family, children can grow up in safety. Not only in the core worlds but everywhere where intelligent life has family ties. Someon else could get it all wrong.

His oldest daughter is very similar to him and even applied for the APE (Alliance pre-training enlistment the newest version of Alliance training program for future soldiers and leaders).

417. How stable is your SC’s mental health

Keeping XO 2 William Troika in the Focus.
William is 47, he knew Kira & Anika before. He was a supervisor at there APE Location. He became a bit of a parent figure for them, the loss of Anika touched him a lot. He still grieves over the loss of a good friend & in his opinion one of best soldiers that where around.
He & Kira wherent very close but since theit loss, Kira relys more on his input & views & they talk a lot. Do to the magic how small a Universe can be he knows Kira's & Anika's Mother. Not very well but he worked with their Father alongside a 2 year mission, they had a rough but respectful Friendship.
Kira reminds him to his daughters & he sees her as an possible example for them. This he often is a more toned XO that tries to be the reasonable voice. His overall mental situation is well grounded & stable.

418 Is your MC one to be haunted by adversity, or to use what they’ve gone through to become stronger?

There is no general answer to this.
Kira had received a lot of nasty blows by the universe in her live. She still stands thus she has not given up. Her mindset is that she constantly tries to improve herself with the knowledge she gained. Had she rather not learned some "Life lessons?" 112% yet here she is commander of a ship, of a crew on a mission. So both maybe true but one definitely only sees one way.

Arkham had rough lessons too not as many and one could argue not as worse but one can't weigh off pain with different pain. Everyone suffers individually and everyone feels differently. Arkham is used to numbing down the pain like she does with her hypersensitive skin.

Ashlei only starts to understand how humans react to memory and especially painful ones.

419. What is a phrase that your SC uses often?

Well as usual it's a ship in the military so you hear quite often a
"Yes Ma'am/Sir./!"(depending on who is on duty), an "Understood!", "Aye!" or "As you order Sir/Ma'am!"

That Kira has a family like approach to her leadership doesn't mean that slender language or mumbled answers are always okay. It can be quite a challenge to know when to keep manners and rank up, so it's not uncommon to hear "can I speak open?", or "at ease/at rest/stand comfortable" as an answer from the commanding officer.
Swexer is an all time insult with a wide variety of usage (from Sex Work EXploitER) and has some not so common relatives in other work areas (like Laexer Labor Exploiter/Syexer System Exploiter in case of Tax evasion or similar ashholery) or for unwanted political powers in the rim.
"Swex one!" is a common swear word if someone gets spooked or is pissed.

420. Is your MC able to fall asleep easily, or is it difficult for them?

I mentioned this before I guess on Word Weavers or back at writing wonders. Don't remember. As a soldier of the Union extensive training includes functionality training thus you need to be able to get your sleep. Usually this involves a personal ritual, that is repeated before going to sleep and than a period of focusing one's thoughts on a monotone area like imagine a black or white wall. Still sometimes it can be hard but Kira has another ace up her sleeve for such cases. Ashlei can suppress her memories for some time, but both prefer not to do so.

Kira's face was unusual serious: "The graveyard at our colony...
My Mum Jack, my Dad Sarah, my sister Nana, my sister Kiara, Anika's and my Dad Peter and maybe now Anika... I'm not even 40 & i lost my closest family twice, the only one left is the ice lady that I dearly love but can not get along with. Why I still do this job? Why do I progress? I only have this crew left, Arkham, Ashlei are my last Family next to Mum Andreja, Admiral Hackert and this crew..., if this mission succeeds no one needs to loose anyone anymore." She closed her eyes but tears already merged...
"I want revenge. At least for Anika. But I won't sacrifice a possible peace over it as much as I hate this cockroaches, at my heart I'm probably still a human even as a Terran spacer, sadly..."

J. absolutely, Talisa also, Rose probably, Jenkins probably, Troika yes, Dr. Kaden probably, Mondira yes but with someone else getting the fire. "Karl" the chief engineer probably but not so sure "Grease monkeys" aren't likely to hold back because missing information means wrong solutions.

Kira: it always was simply protection, protect her crew, her ship, her last bit of family, the Union, the Rim...
It has become stop the Eltaryn, stop this war...

Arkham: it was simple prove your mother that she was wrong, show them that your are the best...
Now it has become keep Kira alive, protect her at all cost from any more suffering.
Keep the crew safe and bring them home alive.

Ashlei: her core program was serve the crew support them in their missions be a good ship.
That has not changed but the motivation has become different. The crew can only rest if peace is achieved through negation or victory.

425. What is your favorite part about writing?

So far it is the feeling if I finish something like a side or an element of the story.
I mostly write as I see fit for the day but I have planned arks that I mostly have finished before the timeline unfolds. As often it's the layering real life has layers too so it's unrealistic that all things end & begin at the same time, there are plots in the work that span wider back and forth as my Storyfokus it allows. And sometimes this plots unravel in the middle of the story I am working on. To layer the universe and story in such a way that it feels a bit like our if nowhere but has clues in the beginning, if you know what to look for, if I manage to hide something "in plain side" it's just pure joy. Of course this may change in the future.

426. What is your least favorite part about writing?

So far is it not writing itself but my personal flaw of inpatience with myself while working and my low resilience for backlashes do to overlooking something. I have a nag for sabotaging my self. But I'm improving slowly, but steady.

Second place my typos... Especially in German they annoy me to great extent. It's my freaking mother language im speaking daily, one should think that this alones enables me to write decent enough that I myself can understand it later.

Mondira started smiling, first her eyebrows raised and lowered individually, than she started moving her eyes independently from each other, her hairline started "bumbing" back and forth, than her nostrils started to move like wings and while all this steps happened individually her smile mutated into a sadistic glee that transformed her face into a demons grimace than it froze like this.
With no visible movement left in her face she spoke:"Unsettling right? It's great for intimidating enemies."

I talked a lot about Kira's habit of drinking the Epi Liquid raw. So let us take a look at Arkham.

I stumbled upon a note I made that she stuffs her locker with cerals from her home world, because the Epi doesn't get the taste right, since I made the note that the Ghoz'Tarc had become an untold legend among people that where on board, for nailing the best Strawberry taste (thanks to the merge of Kira and Ashlei she finally learns what taste is) I think a secret project of Ash and Kira will be to improve on Arkham's cereals.* :D

What about Ashlei as the AI of the Ghoz'Tarc? Well the Ghoz'Tarc has a cold fusion mass/energy generator but also has an heat reaction "coating" on the inside and a sort of space radiation sun panel outer hull. So she can choose between 3 "meals" for her breakfast.
The fourth is an energy weapon discharge absorber.**

*Arkham loves different cereals in different stages of a month or depending on her mood. However since the storage space for the crew is really limited she made a big sacrifice by giving up the space of 6 bags of cereals. She also is the person that doesn't care if you put in cereals first (like I the author-ity do) or put in the milk or future surrogat (like I the author-ity do on my second and third bowl) she just goes with her mood and how much she wants to drink aside.

** The Ghoz'Tarc has a point blank active defense system for which Ash is desperately needed. Basically kinetic energy weapons are evaporated by defense Energie weaponry that transforms the projectile into plasma which than will be prevent from contact with the Ghoz'Tarc's hull however pure energy weapons will damage this shield easily which is why the ship can reroute incoming energy to its system's.

429. Do any of your characters believe in luck?

Most of them know that everything is a result/a consequence of prior decisions and yet most of them are human or at least have to do with humans, on a regular schedule so all of them do. It's just easier to contribute something to luck instead of explaining that æons before today, a proto butterfly farted so hard that it killed a parasite that would have infected a homo whatever and likely would have killed it, which turned out to be the ancestor of half what is called homo sapien sapien today which made it so that you dodged your own extinction...

430. Does your SC like thunderstorms?

Talisa loves them, cuddles together with Rose in a couch or bed. She hates them on the battlefield. As if one enemy wasn't enough the weather joining in on fighting everyone.

That said the feline Somwhar believe that their old gods, the war gods, fight along them in a thunderstorm. One Ex of Kira, Pf'Lamt'Pe believed she was choosen by the war gods because she eas born in one, this was why he called her Si'ha which would translate into any human believe concept most closely to a Valkyrie.
Kira as a more science oriented person wasn't very happy with that.
From time to time Rose mocks her with that.
Talisa has the slight suspicion that that's one of the reasons Rose likes thunderstorms.

Author-ity bilingual brain fails to process this prompt. I stare at it for several minutes now and I had to translate it to get an idea. I may have cathed something, im standing next to my self the whole day...

This came up in Kiras past and it's part of the investigations of military SHADE decisions. If a Shade takes control over any military unit it will afterwards brought to court to judge the case. Kira sofar was found to have acted justified even in the 2 cases of insubordination that where held about her.

The thing that makes her question herself most is the loss of Anika. She still believes that she might live somewhere, maybe captured. She knows she followed her captains orders, still loosing ones sister on the field is ...

432. AU (Alternative Universe): Let's say cameras exist in your universe. Who would your MC want to take goofy photographs with?

Cameras? What an antique.
Holos are capable of capturing an selected area with 99,99% accuracy as a 3D model including data for temperature, air composition, sound, time, location etc.

They are also capable of producing videos/holographic recreations.

Still people like to print out still frames of this recordings. Some use them like we do with pictures today others, like Kira, like to turn them in Holopictures. A format in which the data is arranged like in an digital 20/21. century picture but with available extras.

The Holo can project this imagery into the air where it can be interacted with like a physical picture but with zoom, play, music & everything else. Sometimes the color settings in this mode are a bit of, if your not in an dark environment.

Kira has a whole library with "the team."

433. How comfortable is your SC in their body? How do they feel about their body type? Is being attractive important to them?

I answer in reverse order in a general approach for the crew.

Not really, they are soldiers first as thus they need to stay fit and halfway trained, of course this is also a personal matter so not everyone looks the same but general fitness is needed.

Regular training changes your mind set (that's why a lot of people with psychological issues give it a try for at least some time and some stick to it).

My characters accept their body's in general as they are, the ones who didn't made changes. Often it's just a minor detail. Thanks to better medical equipment, more knowledge, broader variations of body types, raised emotional intelligence, exposure to alien civilizations etc, a more open approach to all identities, self expression, up to trans* species genetics & modifications, exists.

434 Does your MC try to defend or excuse their past or current actions? What excuses do they bring up, if they do?

Professional no excuses, Kira acts in the line of duty, as she seems necessary & only the Unions military high command can judge her actions, or other Shades, she has the right to deny actions if she seems them to risky. That's one of the points with the whole Shade program, to have capable leaders if the need arises.

So far, even 2 cases of insubordination where brought up, her judgement if the situation was deemed right and necessary. In the 2. insubordination case it was even brought up that it was strange that this case came to the high court because it's similarities to the 1. one.

On a personal level Kira explains the reason for her behavior, if she is aware of it & tries to correct her mistakes, she holds high regards to her following soldiers sees them as equals so if she screwed up she tries to fix it.

Innocence is a concept that we make up to understand the world better like every other concept.
I have killed sentient and sapient beings, was it that moment that cost me my innocence?
My first love walked out on me in the middle of the dessert leaving me behind. Did my innocence die there?
Or as I was forced to accept that everyone dies in an instant. What others have years to understand was forced upon me in seconds,
I am the sole survivor of my family...
I fight for the others that they can keep their worldview alive, to slow down suffering approaching them, as long as it is possible. Innocence we call the blizz we life in before being struck by reality."

437. Do you prefer writing with a pen and paper or by using technology?

Digital
I started my first texts, mostly lyrics for songs or plain old preteen poetic attempts with pen & paper, my family was one the late ones to adopt technologies, we only had an computer because suddenly, typewriters wouldn't be repaired anymore. On our first Internet contract I had to talk mom into using that thing just so I wouldn't fall further behind on tech skills, more & more social things, as I did with computer tech already and today again.😅

Some handwritten textes still exist, very bad to read because I never had a beautiful handwriting, i make mistakes, forget mid sentence how a letter looks & mix words up all the time, also printer ink is way better than ink or ballpen ink in surviving the decades.
Had a piece of art with two separate textes that where intervened to a third text. Sadly only one (half) survived an I can't decipher it anymore...

Kira was standing in the cargo bay of the Ghoz'Tarc, the containers where moved to the side, nothing remembered of the kitchen/dining area from yesterday, instead the shooting range was in place.
She looked at Mondira who asked the question. Pulled her pistol from her holster, straightening her arm taking a stable stance, despite the weapon having no real kickback & shot every single target once, while pointing her heterochromatic stare at Mon.
She spoke:"Effortless right? In a realistic situation it's not our goal to shot someone. It's to prevent life loss or the harm of the defenseless.
Imagine this would have been sentient creatures, what had I done?
Mondira looked over to the targets every single one was marked as a hit on the head or vital

439. How much does your SC value companionship? Are they usually found in the company of others, or do they often prefer to be alone?

You are never truly alone on a ship like the Ghoz'Tarc. You have to value companionship in a special way to do so... It's like on a submarine but you can't even go outside and take a breath if everyone would agree you should. Your home that feels like a house in one way you will not leave for a long time especially on this mission. Not seeing a blue or whatever colored sky for a month is another kind of stress. Being in this house with ~39 other people puts stress on you no matter how advanced as a human you may be. This is why the crews become more like a big family over time. You can't resist forever to interact with others. And if you don't like someone you still need to get along somehow...
Companionship is one possible answer.

440. What are your current writing goals?

1. Finding a way for me to work productive on my World(s).

2. Writing the first chapter for Star Ryde hopefully all 12 more planned too. I will skip the challenge of Nano because with an Large LLM behind it I don't like the though of this. Bin the less I will try to finish the first chapter at least without sharing it online...

3. Finding out who am I as a writing person.

4. Reignforests. It's a stupid joke in German Weltherrschaft means World domination/reign the world Waldherrschaft sounds close but means Reign over the forests. I combine the two words to make it sound like Rainforest.

5. Releasing my work somehow/Profit??

6. Take Galaxy Glyde to a level where I can at least be thrown into the Internet.

7. Follow some of my many weird ideas like Cube world (basically 6 Discworlf discs slapped together)

441. What was your MC’s biggest mistake or failure? Does / Did it define them in any way or capacity?

If you ask Kira it may have been falling in Love with Tanya or the day she stepped into the shuttle leaving behind her captain/big, adoptive Sister as she had ordered. Luckily she has pushed beyond the point of feeling guilty for her survival while her parents & sisters did not.

Arkham has a split view on this. She loves what she does, she likes Ashlei very much, she loves her Captain, on the other hand being frontline material isn't a pleasure for sure on the 3. hand hand she was adrift, lost on the streets of her home planet as a teen. Fighting for survival seems her field of expertise next to piloting.

Ashlei: not everything Ash learns from the merge with Kira is pleasant, she accumulated almost all bad memories Kira had (quite a lot) and shares the pain about her sister went missing.

All try to not be defined by the past.

Kira isn't that big of an traits enthusiastic person it's easier to describe her NOPE traits. She simply has a very open mindset, as one should who dates more than one partner in different species.

To her hated traits belong
- Toxicity
- mindlessness
- manipulative behavior with the clear goal of self advantage.
- not accepting boundaries.
- not communicating with a partner is the worst, even as an person unable to speach there are ways to communicate, especially in a world where thoughts can be uploaded into a network.

Arkham has no such preference so far Kira is her first partner and she simply lacks this knowledge it didn't crossed her mind so far. She can tell that it is difficult to be one partner not THE partner but this also has to do with her uprising.

For Ash this will be an interesting journey.

443. Is your MC prone to jealousy? How might they handle envious feelings?

Kira just isn't, she had to learn to value the moment and luckily she could embrace change instead of dealing with a constant fear of loosing someone.

As I mentioned above Arkham has an issue with not being "THE ONE" rather than "just one" she can't see yet that love can be true, unconditional & shared with many, to be fair she was completely sure of being absolutely ace/grey/a- instead of being demi romantic & thought similar about her sexuality.
Without Kira she still would thin like this. Arkhams parents where monogamists & her mom was not very open minded at all. Trying to life her not pursuited dreams through Arkham. Her father kept this in check but he died as Arkham was thirteen.

Ashlei learns through Kira's emotions which makes it a bit difficult for her.

444 Is your SC able to fall asleep easily, or is it difficult for them?

I remember this answer for Kira very well, before I decided that Arkham also will be a main character. Not sure if I answered for Ashlei as an Ship/AI she never really sleeps.
Well Arkham & all others have the same training as Kira by the Alliance military. Basically they all learned to focus on a mono colored, plain/area in their mind & only think about that color. In addition the Hyperpods are constructed to induce sleep. So sleeping isn't that much of an issue. For Kira, Rose & Talisa, who all have "a real bed" onboard, it can be a bit harder, same is true for the guest quarter or the modified sleepcrates/privatecrates in the cargo bay. The Ghoz'Tarc wasn't planned for front missions longer as two weeks so as they send it out they made some "Luxury upgrades." Non the less the Hyperpods & the training are the best combinations to ensure sleep.

445. If you’re planning a sequel for one of your finished or unfinished works, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it? No major spoilers!

I only say that AJ and Kira will have some weird/strange encounters with each other, with the Eltaryn and others
I may switch away completely from the Ghoz'Tarc and her crew, because I have a lot of dear concepts I want to realize with "side characters."
I am also not set yet if some characters may end abruptly or get a happy ending. We'll see.

446. Is your MC able to control their temper?

Kira absolutely is, otherwise she would be deemed unfit for duty & wouldn't have her rank. But everyone has a breaking point, so far it only was reached in the answer to the WordWeavers answer, some days ago, where she met me and knew I wrote her not very pleasant story...

Arkham has a bit loose canon in her "DNA" after all it's her instinctive behavior and reflexes that allow her to be so good, as well her over sensitive skin. She also is one of the youngest members on board but at the same time already in an command position so she has self control but a lot less than Kira.

A.S.H.L.E.I. as the AI of the Ghoz'Tarc we better hope so, you don't want an agile, highly armed ship having a dispute with a planets resident and than realize it just vaporized their living quarters and what surrounded it...
