@Walrus I can order a drink or a meal and I seem to sound convincing because they then strike up a conversation. This is, where it becomes problematic.

Recently, on Kerkyra, while I was using my limited Greek, a waiter asked us where we were from, and I said Ουαλία. He immediately switched to Welsh, which I should be learning faster than I have. Turned out, he worked in Abertawe for years...
